  1. Thanks for all the reply, now there is hope that I can set up a NAS and configure it as a mirroring hard drive. I will need to figure out how to do this when I have some time, but this give me hope to make this system really useful. I think if a thief is smart enough to understand IT, he won't be in the break-in business. I see that there are many variaty of NAS out there (WD, QNAP, snology ... ), just so I don't buy the wrong one. Could anyone share which brand/model that had worked for you (with Lorex LNR200 serious of NVR)? Thanks
  2. This is exactly what I want to do. But I don't see an option to create this NAS on the NVR so it could be mirrored on the network drive. the LNR282 box only provide option to mirror on a secondary local hard drive. I have called the technical support and they said that the only mode of backup supported is the local mirroring drive Would appreciate a link on how to do this.
  3. bought the lnr282 nvr package. While happy with the image quality, the system does not provide any offsite/ftp backup capability. It only provide a mirror backup on another drive attached to the box! Which means if a thief come in to the house and take the box with him, there is won't be any image/trace. what a bummer! Does anyone know any back door or anyway I can mirrow the video to another computer connected to the network, or server? much appreciated.
  4. Hi, I have the LNR282 ( costco package ) NVR and 6 camera system. The instruction manual give backup options including a mirror of a harddrive on the NVR. But I imagine if someone break into my house, the first thing the thief would want to take the NVR so no video/trace is left. So I would want to automatically back up all frame or motion induced frames on a desktop or on a server attached to the network. The instruction manual does not have any discussion of this option. I would imagine other people would have the same question as well?
  5. Thanks. Set up 3) on nvr is what I'm looking for. Appreciate if any links.
  6. I have purchased the Costco LNR800 system. Beside 2 out of the 6 camera are DOA, the rest of the cameras are OK, Camera resolution are good. network viewing, remote mobile viewing are all good. But since all recording is on the NVR, if someone come into the house, I would imagine they want to yank away and take the NVR with them so to remove evidence of the break in. I am thinking, since the NVR is on the same network, could the NVR hard drive be mirrors with another larger drive on a network computer? tried to GOOGLE but does not find similar topics. Could some expert jump in and comment or give me some links to research if I am asking redundant question?
