    Installation at Harbour

Thanks for the reply. actullay i am just doing the installation and the configuration. the client has already bought the cameras and the DVR. so i have no choice. there is going to be 2 DVR's. i am located in Ghana.
  4. Dear all, I am seeking your professional advise if possible please. I am installing an Analog system at the fishing Harbour to monitor the docking bay surrounding a ship. The scenario is as follow: - 6 Samsung PTZ cameras - 13 Samsung Bullet Camera. I am considering using CAT6 outdoor graded Cable for the video transmission for each camera with additional 2x Cat6 cables for the PTZ control each pair will be connected to one camera. Maximum distance is going to be around 150 meters. The installation of the cables will be underground with galvanized pipes for CAT6 and Power cables ( separated pipes). All cables will be going to a 9U cabinet where the DVR is installed (Samsung SRD-1653DP) and I will be linking it to an Acces Point to link the DVR to the ship directly where. The monitoring is going to take place. What do you think about this installation? Should I use signal booster for the video? Your advise is really appreciated. Many thanks!
  5. Hi Guys, i am facing a problem at my new site with the wireless access points i am using to transmit the signal. Items used: * Acess Points: - AP EnGenius 202 and EnGenius 500 * IP Cams: - Planet ICA-HM351 OUTDOOR IR IP CAMERA * Switches: - Planet GSW-1600HP POE+ Gigabit Switch ** Problem: - i put the system on . everything works just fine for couple of days. - suddenly the video cuts and no signal is showing from some of the cameras and sometimes all connected on the same Access Point are not shown. - i have to restart the Access Points Manually to get the signals back. - when i get signal lost i am not able to ping nor access the AP. - i have a total of 6 AP. ( 4 x EnG 202 , 2 x EnG 500 ) - The mode i am using is AP and Client Bridge for each couple of the Access Points. this is briefly my connection and my problem. any idea will be much appreciated and any additional info i will be glad to share. many thanks in advance guys.
  6. Hi all, please i have a samsung dvr SRD-450D and it is always freezing and stop recording. i need to restart the machine most of the times to make it recording again. sometimes the HDD need to be formated to be identified by the DVR. any suggestion what is causing this problem or what is the solution, please ?
  7. it actually worked very well .. but i reduced the bitrate to 2048 and the frame rate to 20 and GOP 20 .. thanks alot appreciated
  8. yes you are absolutely right ... but what about the bitrate and the GOP ? what is your optimal settings for these ?
  9. My cameras resolution is 2MP for each. i installed an NVR that supports 16 Channel / Cameras .. and for now i only installed 8 cameras and i am getting a stuttering in the stream.. i reduced the Fps to 15 and the bitrate to 2048 instead of 15000 ( Full ) to reduce this effect and it seems its working but not with the desired picture quality..
  10. thanks for your reply... actually i guess the NVR specs are not as expected .. i tried as suggested by reducing the resolution but I am not happy with the result. 1supposed to have HD picture but what I am getting is less than analog result-....
  11. Thanks for you informative reply ... Actually i tried using commertial NVR on my server and the picture is smoother than playing it on my NVR ... l figure out that my NVR support only 4M per channel and total of 30M. l reduced the bitrate to 2048 and theGOP to 3 to have a smoother picture in live view and playback ... it worked,,,but not happy with the resolution
  12. Dear all, i hope you can assist me in this issue.. i am using a PLANET solution of IP cameras / NVR / Gigabit switches.. i have a total of 12 cameras all recording in HD .. when i am viewing live from the NVR the picture is not smooth and there is a cut as if i am viewing 1 frame per second ( which i make sure i am running full FPS ) .. when i am also checking the playback or the backup videos the same problem appears which is annoying the customer alot.. i contacted the manufacturer and they said i should decrease the frame rate and the resolution which was not acceptable from the resolution point of view and even though i tried it .. and still the same .. the video has a lot of cuts which can miss alot of important data during a rubbery or any unauthorized movement .. if any data is needed i am ready to give full specs of my system .. please advise ..
