    DVR Software for a Mac

The best software out there for the Mac is SecuritySpy. I've been using it for a while now and nothing else compares. It's rock solid, has a ton of features, and the support is excellent. If you have a problem with the software or are looking for new cameras to be added/new features the developer has been great at responding and implementing features. I tried a few others that I can't even remember now and none of them came close. Have you used SightHound video for the mac. It used to be called Vitamin C. I have never used Security Spy, but have a hard time believing its better than SightHound. Ill check it out. Thanks I've got a four license version of security spy. Seems nice. Sound hound is exponentially cheaper when you start adding cameras. $250 bucks for unlimited vs $1156 for security spy! Please post a comparison when you check them out. Thanks
  3. Always good to be suspicious of the claims of $91 camera vendors. I'm not saying they're misleading anyone, but I'd bet it's a patched Chinese camera at that price. If so, yes, it's international now, but may revert with a software update. IMO, the main issue with Chinese tagged cams is the upgrading difficulty. If I bought Chinese cams, I'd probably do the CBX fix just to avoid the time required fiddling with them in the future, but for those who don't need firmware updates or don't mind spending the time, it's not a big deal. Do the cameras automatically update the firmware? Shouldn't they work fine as long as you don't update the firmware?

    New Swann dome at costco

New user here. Picked up one of these and the image is great. Couple of questions. Any idea what brackets are available to flush mount this camera in a ceiling? I cant get this camera to be seen from outside my network with the hikvision app. It works inside. Do I have to forward the HHTP, RTSP, HTTPS and the sdk ports to the camera on the router or one of them specifically. Anyone know how to add audio in simple laymans terms with specific parts i can find online? Thanks Custer
