    Constant recording. No motion detection

Maybe do a test take one camera and set to motion get someone to move out into the area until you can't detect masking is helpful but anything like air vents fans whatever will give you some problems. Outside forget it. Trees and cars roads whatever are a big problem. Make sure you have high-res cameras a cheap camera will not function properly by any means. 600 plus on the analog side nothing less and if they are IR you know a good dose of home defense pest control keeps our spider friends from making a nesty home around the IR's a recorded frenzy from our cameras just a thought. Last about 30 days and Home Depot has it I actually make money with my clients as a maintaince fee to come to a 15m spray around them and it works good for 50 a month$$$ adds up when you have tons of clients. 8.5.4.0 spot monitor on gv 1480

Well usually you have to initiate it then it prompts you to restart program to get to set up. Kind of weird but thats how it works. Take a test monitor anything with an analog input plug it in locally and see what you get you should see a set up menu with camera positions and layout if not you may have a older card with new software just a thought check with USA visions chat they can help. PTZ Question.

Do you have the IO card or the GV-net? Did you power it with your CPU pigtail or plug the cable into the Geo card? Well if you can not see the address and yes less one is always the case which I have always thought was kind of goofy then like they said power the cam up look quickly at settings and see if something is missing in set up of camera. A multi tester will tell you what its sending out from output on the card RS485 make sure your wires are good to cam and do a continuity test with a tone generator from one end to another. Sounds to me like a lift is in your future if that does not fix it cause the best thing is to get it working on the ground before you install. Here is a few questions-How far is it from DVR? Exterior or interior? Type of PTZ? Multiple PTZ cameras? Bad power supply to PTZ whats the voltage? Old cablesin use exterior? I have to use diodes for multiple PTZ cameras before. Hope that helps and chat with USA visions they should be able to help bro would like to hear the outcome.

    TEXT mode vs Graphics mode

Ok here you go bro the only thing I have ever got it to work on is Gilbarco Passport. Truly let me you fill you in Geo honestly does not know if it will work or not and have never talked to anyone that truly is a master at this even USA Visions. Its really a waste of time and man I have wasted a bunch! Here is the solution and yes its costly but awesome in everyway as long as your trans system is compatable-Gulf Coast Software Solutions. Check them out on line they mirror Geovision on there software and it becomes a awesome management tool you can sell to your clients for big bucks!! Not only that but you only need one software key to manage multiple registers I have done several it ties into the netowork and sinks perfectly. VSI pro is a great solution for one register but still, who has the time to look at every transaction and review a text overlay. You can set up up alerts for voids-no sales-returns or what ever all emailed to you with a video clip now thats awesome! I am a dealer for them and you can get set up just check them out on line. Heres another thing for 150.00 a year you get 24 hour tech support and they will dial in and fix anything that is software associated or answer any questions for you or your clients. Check them out and I am not saying that the Geo boxes don't work cause they do just a lot of maintaince and garbage on your screen even if you get close to making it look right. The software from them is around 1200.00 from Gulf Coast and well worth it for any commercial environment! Hope that helps and I share your frustration with the boxes that is why I went with them a few years back they are in Florida and easy to find on line have them do a demo for you and you will be amazed. geovision IP system hangs

Sounds like a problem I have encountered before. Honestly the best thing with something like this is to contact USA visions and use the chat line. If they can't help you then with chat then tell them you want to talk to tear two techs and usually they will help and get you in contact with someone who can help. Not sure bro on that one but that would be my 1st step. David
  11. From what I understand you can stack cards from the same frame rate 4 or 16 it does not matter think version 8.4 or 8.5 is where it starts but updating higher end cards with new software is capable just have to dump it from all areas and if you never have done it before it will take some time and need steps from GEO to get it right. I don't think a 600 and a higher end card can sink up correctly but I may be wrong. I am figuring you have a 1480 or 1120 for the price you paid. Here is your solution as follows check with USA visions googe them on line and go to the chat section they can tell you exactly if so or if not. I am not sure but going to the chief and not the indian is always a good choice like our distributors or dealers we buy these from. Let me know what you figure out would like to hear what they have to say. David

    gv-1120 ver 8.4 TV-out port

Ok well I have kind of been through this before. 1st double check with a view finder or I use a Sony portable DVD player with battery pack with an analog video input I pick them up from second hand stores that always works great (FYI) or any other monitor if you can see the real time quad or screen then you know its not the card. Also, make sure you go to the set up section of the display on the Geovision set up think its under the tool icon and set it up accordingly to what ever cameras you would like to view and a restart of the Geo program is usually prompted to get to that section once initiated. Another problem and this may not be in your case is that older cards do not always work properly with new software if you have a older card. Just some ideas but 1st try a different monitor then you can eliminate the Vzio as the problem. Good luck and would like to hear what you figured out. Also use USA visions chat line its a good help but not always available. There in California 7am-5:30pm M-F usually ready to help us guys out.
  13. I have been installing Geovision for the past 9 years and love the stuff completely. I use it for everything and recently have been using the fisheye cameras for alot of commercial and residential applications. Its great I have figured out pretty much everything it has to offer used all the models and like the results through a PC on site or off. BUT-How the heck do you set you quads or boxes within and then log into on a I pad remote view or multiview and be able to see what you have set up on your NVR??? I have been through every part of the server set up and no luck. I can't even get it to work loging in independantly to each camaras IP. This is a big problem for me and want to keep using them but USA visions and my distributor and pretty much everyone one else does not have a clue. USA vision did talk about setting up somekind of software that mirrored the image but I am stuck not able to make it happen. We all know they are great cameras and like the overall functionality> (and just so everyone knows a IR version will be out in a few months! Great!!!) Anyone figured out how to see the quad view or anything else than the fisheye from a I pad or I phone please help!!! David
