  1. I noticed that my DVR has not recorded anything recently. When I use Netviewer to try to look at the playback, it tells me there is no video. Under the HDD info, it says it is full, but the overwrite is set to "Auto". I turned the schedule to ALWAYS and disabled motion detection, but still no recordings are happening. Why would this be? Also, would anyone happen to know a root password for telnet on these things? This particular system is 420 miles away and I have no way to reboot it right now.
  2. We have a Night Owl Poseidon-85 8-channel DVR system and in an effort to maximize recording history, I have it set for recording based on Time Schedule instead of Continuous and for the schedule, the entire grid is set for MOTION. I have all 8 channels set like this, and I have the sensitivity set to the lowest (1); however all the channels record ALL the time. Some of the channels are in rooms that have absolutely no movement and these things record around the clock. The problem is that it only gives us two weeks of history. I called Night Owl and they suggest we replace the unit, which of course, is out of warranty. The unit functions fine otherwise and I would prefer to see if there is something we are missing. Any help appreciated.
  3. Hello, I'm sure this is a long shot, but it seems like a logically place to find out. We have a Poseidon-85 monitoring a remote home and 4 of our 6 cameras stopped showing video a few days ago. The DVR logs, according to Netview, show that they all stopped at the same time. Shockingly, the software does not have a means to reboot the unit, so I was looking for an alternate way to do it and found port 23 open. Unfortunately everything I guessed as a default password was wrong, so I started searching and didn't come up with much. I have a request into Night Owl, but I highly doubt this is something they are going to offer up willingly. Has anyone been able to retrieve a default login for these units? Thanks.
