    Dahua firmware

I know you need NTSC, but this is about PAL version: General_NVR3xxx_Eng_P_V2.616.0000.0.R.20140110 is very ok( I love it), but General_NVR5xxx_Eng_P_V2.616.0000.0.R.20140110 will lose cameras and hangs, tested on NVR5216 and NVR5816 - I do not recommend!
  2. 1. get iDMSS (or iDMSS Lite) (HD version available too) from iTunes. Lite is free version. 2. Do the portforwarding, if you need to see your video outside of your network.

    Time for NVR?

All Dahua NVR's can do audio recording, there is just the difference with analog, that the recording works thru camera - It means, Your ()camera must have audio-in function, so you can enable audio channel by Your video stream. Those Dahua NVR's that have direct audio-in/mic-in port, these are not for recording anyway, but for telephone function - so You can hear realtime sound that goes not to videostream and is not syncable or recordable with videostream.

    Dahua firmware

It is impossible to connect with 1920.168.1.108, better try 192.168.1.108. Did You use the 3800? In first 10 seconds? What is the firmware name You used?

    Dahua firmware

If you are sure, that you have the correct IP address and correct firmware update, then there is allways the port 3800 on Dahua devices (available during 10 seconds after powerup ) for firmware update with RECUpgrade1.16
