  1. The longest run will probably be around 150m Not sure if Cca or copper will make much of a difference on voltage drop at that sort of distance?
  2. Thanks Jerome, please see the detais of the cables 1) 0.65mm CU+3.66mm FPE+9*16*0.12mm CCA Braiding+6.1mm PVC+2x7*0.37mm CCA Power wire 2) 0.81mm CU+3.66mm FPE+16*8*0.12mm CU Braiding+6.1mm PVC+2x7*0.37mm CU Power wire any thoughts on these, are they ok for 300m distances (for CVI and AHD systems) the pure copper 20 AWG cable costs twice as much as the first, is it worth paying double for Copper power cables, and not CCA. (both have pure copper coax and copepr brading) here in the UK almost all cctv suppliers use the first type.. Thanks
  3. Hi Guys, i am considering the best cables for our AHD cameras, i know RG59 cable with a solid copper conductor (rather than ccs) and 95% pure copper Brading coverage is a good option, however i am not sure whether i should invest a little more and go for cabling where twin (18\2) power cables as pure copper, or just go for the common option, where the 2 power cables are CCA Is it worth paying more to get a quality cable , like the ones here:- http://www.broadbandutopia.com/rg59coax.html Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    PTZ Power issue

Hi Guys, i just Purchased a PTZ camera, with autotracking.. i was testing with my 960H DVR and when i powered directly everything was fine.. however, as soon as i powered it via a pre made Siamese cable.. the PTZ leds would show but the camera wouldnt initilaise.. Any idea on what i might be doing wrong and how it can be rectified? (i assuem its due to a drop in Voltage.. ) can i use a 24v PSU , instaed of a 12V one? Thanks in advance

    IP Camera Setup

Hi, what are the options to setup 8 ip cameras, over a distant off approx 50m each, the cameras do not have poe.. is it recommended to use a POE switch or can power and the signal transmission be sent via a different method, as instaling poe kits and a switch is fairly expensive Thanks

    Hi, advice please..

i think a better option is the following cam if you can afford it (we have installed these and they are exceptional value) http://www.cctvtek.co.uk/_shop/bullet-cameras/700tvl-13-sony-super-exview-700tvl-effioe-2812mm-bullet-cctv-camera/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeH_pCXODk4
