  1. Looking to buy an IP camera, need recommendations of a camera matching the following criteas: - Must be compatible with Geovision (doesnt have to be Geovision brand, i bought a third-party ip camera licence) - Would prefer to have an option to use it with wired ethernet connection, so if i get interferences with wifi i can just wire it to my router - NO INFRARED !!! The camera will be behind a window - Good low-light image WITHOUT lowering the shutter speed (i don't want blurred image when things are moving) - As small as possible (camera will be behind the door's window so it must be small) - Will be used indoor only, i don't need weatherproof or waterproof - I want REAL COLORS !! So i need an IR filter or else the colors will look pink
  2. I just bought a Geovision USB dongle to use with third party IP cameras... can you provide me a live demo (ip, login and password) so i can add a demo camera to the Multicam program just to check how everything works before buying a real IP camera ?

image is blurred when capturing moving people

This camera is a pain in the ass. I've been trying to get the correct settings since 2 weeks but the image is always ****ty. Either is't totally dark, totally over-lighted, blurred or full of noise. Can't get decent balance. I bought an Effio-V af the same time and it took me only a few minutes to set it up and it works better than the Pixim now. So here's what happen when i turn off sense-up on the Pixim and set the shutter speed to 2X / 30FPS. Note that i did a factory reset to default just before. And here's how the image is supposed to look, with default settings I contacted Securitycamera2000 multiple times about my problem but they are helpless, they kept telling me to change a setting that didn't even exist and when they realised it, all they could recommend is to turn off sense-up which gives me this nasty image. I'm desperate. I'm about to throw this Pixim in the garbage and buy another Effio-V.

image is blurred when capturing moving people

Even with the day/night feature enabled, i still get a blurred image as soon as there is movement. I tried resetting to factory defaults and i still have the same problem. The cameras i bought are rated for low-light usage. Pixim and Effio-V are the best analog cameras, afaik.

image is blurred when capturing moving people

yes, and during the day the picture is always perfect even with moving people or objects. But during the night, moving people are blurred
  7. I upgraded my system and bought two high end analog cameras : a Pixim and an Effio-V Both have the same problem: when someone moves in front of the camera the image is VERY blurry, even if the person isn't moving fast. I don't understand why because i have 4 other very cheap cameras (bought for less than $30 on ebay) that doesn't have this problem.... Why am i getting a worst image with a camera 3 times more expensive ?? Is there any way to fix the motion blur ? I totally desactivated the day/night mode because i don't want to get black&white colors during the night. The seller told me to set the shutter speed to 1/200, which i did (on the Pixim camera) but it didn't make a big difference

    geovision and gadgets / widgets

I just built a new PC to upgrade my Geovision to Windows 7. I added a couple of widgets on it to display weather, time, cpu temp and disk usage. Everything works fine on the desktop and when playing movies. But as soon as i launch the Geovision program, the transparency of the widgets become pink. I use both Windows 7 gadgets and widgets from "xwidget" software. Both have the same problem. Any idea how i can fix this ? I'm on Windows 7 with a fresh install, using onboard Intel HD Graphics. As you can see most of the widgets on screen display correctly, but the ones that are over the CCTV video are messed up.

    teamviewer & gv800v4

all of my cameras are just displaying plain pink color when i login with teamviewer... any way to fix this ? i've searched everywhere but havent found a solution Some people says to turn off DSP Overlay but i don't have any option to do that with my version
  10. I don't have a lot of experience with CCTV. I bought a couple of cheap cameras on ebay and i was disappointed with all of them Last one i bought on ebay claimed to have 1000tvl (1/3 CMOS with 138+8520 chipset) but the quality ended up to be horrible. Lots of noise and the worst part is that colors looks pink (especially green and blue) Click this link to see what i'm talking about. My camera looks like the image on the right: http://img.alibaba.com/img/pb/667/039/370/370039667_392.jpg I've been told that i need to have an IR-CUT Filter to resolve the pink image problem, but i can't find any of them on mini cctv over 700tvl Then i heard that Pixim chipsets are better and they don't need IR-Cut filter, but once again they can't be found over 700tvl So i am looking for replacement cameras and i need advices. Requirements: - Budget: maximum $125 - 1/3 - ANALOG camera, *no* HD-SDI. - NO INFRARED LIGHTS (the camera will be behind a window so IR isn't an option) - NO PINKISH COLOR - No "fisheye" effect - Must be as small as possible, so i'm looking for a camera with a small square black box like this one: http://www.hafeezcentre.pk/ads_images/1294393307_su82/hc129794296855.jpg - The CCTV i currently use isn't very good in low-light or direct-sunlight condition so i need a new one that can help in these conditions A few questions: - What chipset is better.... Pixim, Effio, Exview HAD or Sony Super HAD ?? Or something else ? - I see that 2.8mm and 3.6mm lens are available in pinhole and "round" versions. What is the quality difference between the two ? I would prefer to go with a pinhole version (easier to hide) but if i get a better (or wider) image with a non-pinhole then i will go for the second option. Please explain the advantages and disavantage of a 2.8mm pinhole versus 2.8mm non-pinhole THANKS SO MUCH !

    Geovision & AMD chipsets

How can i know if GA-J1800N-D2H features native PCI ? As for the card, i bought it here: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/16CH-GV-Card-GV-800-V4-V8-4-GV-DVR-Card-PCI-E-Interface/1564660679.html First time i buy from this website, i hope i don't get scammed. I didn't know it is an old model, maybe that explains why it is much more cheaper than other cards. Is there a big difference between GV-800A and GV-800B ?

    GV-800 with ip cameras ?

I've read somewhere that you have to buy a license if you want to use a non-geovision IP camera .... is it true ?

    Geovision & AMD chipsets

Yeah but apparently there are compatibility issues with Ivy and Sandy bridges also... So who's to blame ? Intel AND AMD or... Geovision ? BTW, amd APU outperforms any Intel's in the same price range.

    Geovision & AMD chipsets

They have only a few numbers of tested motherboards on this list... My DVR-PC is sitting right to my bed, so i really want a 100% passive cooling system (fanless) which doesn't gives me a lot of option. I've successfully used a Geovision card with a BOXD525MW system in the past, but the motherboard doesn't even have HDMI so i want to upgrade. At first i ordered AMD E45M1-M PRO but i cancelled it when i learnt that Geovision isn't compatible with AMD chipsets. So now i have bought and received the GA-J1800N-D2H but usavision website is saying that GV-800A is incompatible with Ivy bridge and this motherboard/cpu combo is running an Ivy-based Celeron !!! I've ordered a PCI-Express GV-800v4 and i'm waiting to receive it to test it with my motherboard Can't believe a DVR card that costs so much is now incompatible with the majority of modern hardware...
