By the way if I speak loud I can hear what I say from the security camera connected, but the noise is way too loud so can hear it barely.

By the way usually in security cameras I can plugin wires in green connector, but this has standard audio jack such as in headphones or speakers, I tried to split one and use it and also bought one that is designed for making such cable. I tried plugging in the white cable in center and that is when noise comes in. But this connector is designed for 2 cables. The microphone only has the red and black connectors for power and audio has only 1.

I'm trying to connect a microphone to my DS-2CD764FWD-EZ camera. I tried 2 different ones but getting static loud noise. I think the amperage is too high, one of the microphones (DS-2FP4021-B) shows to take 45mA. I tried to use a supply from an old analog security camera, it had 1200mA. I am looking all over for 45mA supply but can't seem to find one. Or maybe the camera converts mA to what it needs? Or it has to be 45mA or below? Anyways looking for suggestions. I need to set this up asap. Appreciate any help with this.

That one looks like a fake. (Not real ip cam support) You want one with real ip camera support. I would wait for someone to chime in on something they've used. If you buy a standalone dvr it should have the mobile viewing built in! Wish is convenient. Sounds like it would be easier for you to get a standalone dvr. I saw on the forum people talking about dahua dvr. Those sound like a safe bet. what do you mean by "fake"?

Advance, I'm sure you can setup remote viewing with up cameras. It's pretty basic these days and most PC camera support it. IMHO I would recommend the ip camera because they have better quality for identifying people. Unless you have hd-sdi which you would need to invest in a dvr and also cameras that are sdi. So are you saying that IP camera even without a DVR can be set up for mobile viewing? It has built in software or software needs to be installed on the computer? How does it work, at least briefly? I think I need a DVR in any case, reason is I have some analog cameras and plan to get IP cameras, I'd like a central location for viewing mobile and recording, hopefully I can get something like this and not too expensive? Do you know of such system, say 16 channels analog and 16 or less for IP in same DVR? Thanks.

Can someone please tell me for sure, if I use CAT5e for wiring and "baluns" will it effect the quality? What is the most feet I can use it to keep good quality? For analog and for megapixel if it makes difference? Thanks I appreciate any information from knowledgeable person.

I just need about 3-5 cameras that can make out a license plate number and a face and few more basic just for viewing whats happening at the time. Check out those hik vision cams there like 180 a piece and you can use your current computer as long as you can leave it on all the time. Hello, I was doing some research and came across this forum, so thought I'd write. Hopefully I can learn something here. Also I am fairly new in the CCTV industry and so far I only installed basic Swann DVR with cameras with coaxial wiring etc, very basic and from what I learned the Swann is not even "truly" professional, so I am trying to find better solutions yet to stay within a budget. I need to install roughly 18-24 cameras so I know I need a 24 channel DVR. Some cameras are going to be very basic, others I want to be quality and have good resolution, at least 3-5 of those need to be quality. One of the problems I've faced with Swann cameras is that I was not able to read a license plate number of a car, so would need cameras that are good enough in such cases. What kind of DVR would you recommend? Also which cameras? Should I run coaxial cable or CAT5e? I did coaxial before, but someone told me CAT5e are good and easier to install etc, but then someone else said that if it is stretched too long it will loose video quality, is that true or not? Also someone told me that on some DVRs the quality or FPS is shared by all cameras and sometimes the advertised quality of video for DVR only works with lets say have of cameras it is capable of, but if all are installed the quality is reduced, is that true or not? Also should I consider IP/network cameras? Would appreciate if someone could explain some of these things to me. Thanks in advance!
