  1. Have a Hikvision NVR DS-7716NI-SP POE NVR and have all the cameras hook up directly to the NVR. One camera DS-2CD2432F-IW, has a PIR sensor for detecting motion. The NVR seems to only have settings to set the camera with motion alerts, based on changes of the pixels in the field of view. Am I missing something on the NVR to change this setting to use the PIR sensor? Have mac with iVMS-4200 software also, is there a setting on this software that can be used? (NVR bought in US, cams through China - and not sure how to access cams directly if that is what is needed?) Thanks
  2. Able to see my Cameras from Wifi but not 3G/LTE My knowledge on routers and networks is pretty spotty so really could use some help on where I need to concentrate my focus: Have: Hikvision NVR DS-7716 NI-SP16 All IP Hikvision camera plug into NVR ethernet ports FIOS M1424WR Rev.1 Router My basic understanding is I need to have a DDNS and port forwarding set up? I’m lost on where to start and what devices to set up? NVR has: - DDNS tab which now has: DDNS type “HiDDNS"; Server Address “ http://www.hik-online.com” ? - General Tab with: Preferred DNS Server “192.xxx.x.x” ? At http://www.hik-online.com there is a web DDNS Management System v.1.0 ? Also my FIOS router has “Dynamic DNS” and “DNS Server” ? Then there is the is the iVMS-4500 iPhone App which has set up choice of “IP/Domain” (which I’m using now and working with Wifi) or can be configured with “HiDDNS” or “IP Server” ? The FIOS router also has port forwarding which is set up “Networked Comp / Device” has: 192.xxx.x.x5:80, 192.xxx.x.x5:8000, 192.xxx.x.x5:1024, 192.xxx.x.x5:443 (the “192.xxx.x.x5” is the same as the Preferred DNS Server “192.xxx.x.x” on the NVR, except for the addition “5” on the end) “Applications and Port Forwarded” has: “DVR_NVR PORT MAP TCP Any -> “34338” (each different numbers) NVR “Port” setting: Server Port 8000, HTTP Port 80, Multicast IP (none), RTSP Port 554 Thanks, Patrick !
  3. Hard Drive recommendations? Just bought Hikvision NVR (DS-7716NI-SP/16) For Home use 16 cams and probably just have cameras recording with motion. Hard drive prices have come down quite a bit so looking at 3TB ... believe that should be more than enough for my needs? 4TB not much more ... so suggestions there also if better choice? What drives are recommended for NVR? Use same criteria to evaluate drives as you would if buying for a desktop computer? Thanks, Patrick
  4. ------ Thanks - makes sense ...didnt know about Doorbot, and found another SkyBel. Nice concepts, but reviews look iffy, a lot say not working well ... will research more!
  5. I'm confident its a print mistake, unless Hikvision have just updated the 2532 camera to include this, highly unlike though imo. --- So if the above is wrong and there is no internal speaker ... - Is it as simple as attaching a wire to an external speaker, or is there some time of amplifier needed? - Where do you find external speakers to attach? Thanks again!

  8. There is no inbuilt speaker, only a mic. For them to hear you, you would need to connect a separate/external speaker via one of the IO connectors on the camera. The wifi model also has a Ethernet port. Video and Audio will go through the CAT5e wire Full duplex Attached a couple of photos to help show the connections. Hope this helps --------- Please see attach DS-2CD2532F-I(W)(S) screen shot below from Hikvision.com It state "Built in microphone & speaker" - Is this a different model or is it a mistake? - if there is a built in speaker - will the Hikvision iPhone app allow 2 way audio ? - if there is not a built in speaker: I will also be using Channel Vision DP-0302 door intercom (rings all phones in the house using the TE110). Can I use this as the speaker for the camera also? (attached image)
  9. ------- If I purchase the following Hikvision products: -Camera DS-2CD2532F-IWS (has built in mic and speaker) -NVR 7716NI-SP/16 If I mount this cam at my front door: will I be able to talk to someone at my front door, using the Hikvision iPhone app? The model with audio also has WiFi, does this WiFi model also have an ethernet port for hard wiring? Will all video and audio go through one Cat 5e wire? (what is this "audio dongle" mentioned above?) Is this Full duplex, half duplex, etc ? Ideally I would like to set it up so: My iPhone is alerted by the camera detecting motion at the front door and I then can see who is there and converse as needed. If this will not work ... other suggestions ? Thanks Patrick
  10. Anyone know of a good dome camera I can use for outside my front door, with 2 way audio built in? If not some examples of external mics and speakers that are use to attach to the dome camera? Thanks
  11. Thanks for the reply! Anyone know of a good dome camera I can use for outside my front door, with 2 way audio built in? If not some examples of external mics and speakers that are use to attach to the dome camera
  12. When using any outside dome camera with audio inputs and outputs, can these use the speaker and mic on my ChannelVision DP-0302 Door intercom?
  13. Been doing a lot of research on these forums and with so many options finding myself going down lots of different paths. Looking to see if any decent package options or go with single manufacture to mix and match compatible components? I have cat5 wire everywhere I want to put a camera, so looking at NVR (POE) 16 Ch (to cover outdoor and indoor of the main and guest house) Front door cam will want 2 way audio Indoor cams also 2 way audio Decent iphone app that reliable connects Back yard night coverage 75 ft would be great ( 50ft OK) Alarm In/Output -will be using the motion on cameras to turn on lights (through my HAI OmniPro) I would be monitoring the system only when notified of breach and mainly on iPhone (but also web access at times) Budget - looking for value, but lucky in that don't have too much of a cost constraint, based on what I've see on pricing on the equipment. I see here Hikvision and Dahua are often recommended With Hikvison for example, looks like it will do most of what I want, but????: Their NVR (POE)(DS-7716NI-sp) only handles 80Mbps bandwidth IP video Input - is that enough? Do they have 2 way audio outdoor dome camera, (or are they all plug in external mic and speaker). If only external mic and speakers, for outdoors what are the preferred ones? Their indoor 2 way cam DS-2cd2432f-iw, looks like a very nice one? Do they have a good iPhone app? Recommendations on any decent package options or manufacture to mix and match compatible components, highly appreciated!!! Thanks, Patrick
