Buying server to work as NVR

But what do you think the system requirements are? The thing is that the Hp server I linked to is priceworthy in sweden. My question is if that server could handle up to 8 ip cameras? I dont want to "overbuy".
  2. Hi everybody! Since this is my first post I want to start by expressing my gratitude to this forum, it have helped me a lot! You guys rock. Now I need more of your expert-advice. I recently bought 6 hikvision DS-2CD2232-I5 to use at an smaller industrial facility. So now i'm looking for something to act as a nvr which leads me to 2 questions. 1. I want to have a server and not a standalone NVR. I'm wondering what the recommended hardware specification for my setup is? I want my server to handle up to 8 cameras, and some minor file-storing. The recording will probebly only be on during nightime. Will the HP proliant N54L be powerfull enough to make my system run smooth? Ofcourse with an POE-switch http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16859108164&cm_re=n54l-_-59-108-164-_-Product 2. Software- Give me some advice which to try out. I would prefer it to be free or at a low cost. My demands are: - Good working motion detection - Easy to use - Remote access preferbly full control - IOS/android accesseble stream (preferbly app) Let me know if you need more info! Thanks in advance!
