    ptz or fixed cameras ?

cant see garage and side entrance with one camera so guess i would need two. heard this camera the 4mb i8 is suppost to be good at night http://www.netviewcctv.co.uk/hikvision-ds-2cd2t42wd-i8.html i think the key to cctv is to stop theft happerning in the first place. only thing that i dont like about the new DS-2CD2T42WD-I8 are i think this camera has 1 night vison led you can see at night ( might be wrong ) compaired to the older cameras which have the round night vison led rings obviously people can see the led rings lit on them so at night so are a very good deterent. ive already bought the latest hikvision 4k nvr http://www.netviewcctv.co.uk/8-channel-hikvision-4k-nvr-ip-12mp-recording-80-256mbps-max-12tb-hdd-h265-ds-7608ni-i2-8p.html should i still go with this camera despite the fact they only have 1 night vision led on at night. i guess potental thiefs they can still see this camera at night ? hope someone can advize anyone got these cameras who can comment, hope someone can help.

    ptz or fixed cameras ?

well i need a couple of cameras or a single ptz on corner of house To watch my garage and side enterence of my house. Obviously need decent night vision Seen this reolink 4mb ptz https://www.amazon.co.uk/4-Megapixel-Varifocal-Waterproof-Reolink-RLC-423/dp/B01GZUEG3A/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1472149104&sr=1-1&keywords=Reolink+ptz&tag=av0c-21 could possibly fit this on corner of house so would only need the one camera and one ethernet cable then. only thing that puts me off a ptz is it has moving parts so more likely to fail. or am i just being to cautious. anyone any experince with a ptz? also heard from reading up a bit 4mb ip cameras are suppost to be very good. ( higher mp the better picture ) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hikvision-DS-2CD2T42WD-I5-120-Bullet-Camera/dp/B0172K52UI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472237472&sr=8-1&keywords=DS-2CD2T42WD-I5 2 x 4mp fixed cameras or ptz? Which would be my best option.
  3. hi im looking to buy a eternal ptz for outside my house. Hikvision HD-TVI 1080P https://www.jmcsecure.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=DS-2AE5223TI-A&gclid=CKWb9vaMwc4CFUU6GwodkJoClw noticed the 720p panasonic has auto tracking which is a bonus http://security.panasonic.com/products/wv-sw395/ needs to be able see in night so just wondering what you guys think which is the best out of the 2 cameras.
  4. ok just update . i tryed connecting to camera on my ipad to the ip address of my camera and used a random user and password to the one i had and it still connects up to the ptz with picture. im sure how it still connects directly with any random user/ password? so maybe it might indeed be wrong user and pass for camera. im sure. so im just wondering if theres a re-set switch inside or a way to re-set this ptz back to factory defaults. hope someone on here can help.
  5. tryed all them guys still says user pass is wrong? strange as i have logged into the camera on a panasonic app on my ipad with the user / pass i got for camera and all works as i get a picture etc on the ptz. i just cant log in with brouser to get to main camera settings. the camera model is WV-NW964 i dont think theres a reset on the camera to set to default settings unless theres one inside ptz. had a quick look in manual and it dont mention one. i might be wrong. i would think theres got to be a way to reset ptz to default?
  6. ive tryed connecting to my panasonic nw964 ptz in brouser by putting the cams ip address however it brings up "A username and password are being requested by http://162.***.***.** . "The site says: "security dir" ive tryed entering the cameras correct user and pass and also tryed my routers user and pass, and also tryed panasonics default user/pass - admin / 12345 all 3 still bring up "A username and password are being requested by http://162.***.***.** . "The site says: "security dir" anyone any ideas?
  7. i bought a used Panasonic wv-nw964 it was taken down from a working site that closed down. ive got it to turn on and display a picture. however i can hear the fan running constantly. is this normal? as i thought the fans only suppost to come on if hot? however unsure.
  8. hi guys i bought a Panasonic wv-nw964 ptz camera which apprently was took down from a site as they upgraded to ip cameras. it has blue, brown, green wires for the power. however manual says the wv-nw964 connection for power is 24v the black/white wire connections. however this camera has no black/white wire for 24v? only brown /blue/ and earth wires diagram attached im just wondering what 24v power supply i need for this panasonic camera. will any 24v universal power supply work? thanks in advance.
