  1. I've just tried hooking up a external monitor and that's not displaying a picture either, the fan is still going on the DVR. I guess it's possible that the DVR has gone caput but as there anyway of working out if that is the problem?
  2. hi all, really need some help i have had some hikvision cameras installed for a few years now, and last couple of days you cannot view them outside the house using data plan on your phone or even using wifi. i've phoned my BB provider plusnet as i have a static IP address and nothing has changed, ive resent my router and turned the DVR off and it still shows on the app 'connection failed' dont know what else to try I have the hikvision DS 7208HWI DVR and using the IVMS 4500 app thanks

  4. Hi thanks for replying, yes i have a paid gbp5.00 for a static ip address, where do i need to put this to be able to view cameras outside the network. thanks
  5. evening, im recently switched my broadband from BT to Plusnet, so new router etc (not sure id ever do it again its only when you change router do you realise how much stuff nowadays is on wifi) I have a hikvision 8 camera set up, its not the POE system its the older models. I have the app on my IVMS. the problem is i can view the cameras on my app on wifi but not on data. Ive called plusnet and spoke to someone and he said he didnt have to change any port forwarding settings just said its alot easier with a static IP address, ive paid for static now and hes given me that i have the IP address of the DVR aswell. what do i do or where do i go with these ip addresses. I assumed i went to the hiddns page and update that with the IP address and port forward but i cant get my head round it. on the app i have it pointing to the HiDDNS, ive gone onto that page it its says HiDDNS has migrated to hik connect, i tried to conenct to that but after i put the serial number of the DVR it didnt recognise it any help or advice.
  6. hi all, need som help, ive been trying for a week now to set my Hikvision dvr up to view on on my phone, i have sky hub/router SR101 I have the hikvision DVR hooked upto the router. I think its the port forwarding i cant get my head round. I have signed up with DYNSDNS.org and set up a host. I can view my camera via IE if you type in the IP address and also view hikvision online. i have the IVMS 4500 software alias....... (i can just put anything here) register mode....(ive got Hiddns) server address..... (this is the dyndnshost name but with no www or http in front o f it) device domain..... (the name i gave it) user name....(use name of the dvr i set up) password... (password to access the dvr its the port forwarding im still not understanding..... inbound and outbound, which ip address goes where? i have tried to forward my ports and checked with a port opener tool to see if there open, the publi address i have port 80 open... ive tried so many youtube videos and walkthroughs ive got mental lol
  7. hi all, i need some help please, i installed a 5 hikvision camera set up today on my house. im really confused though as im trying to view the cameras on the ipad and windows phone and i cant. ive been through countless youtube videos and forums trying to find my answer. i can view them on my laptop when entering the ip address. i struggling tryingt o get my head around how IP addresses work and what i need to forward, from what ive read if i go to cmd - ipconfig - and then my ipv4 address is showing thats the Ip address i need to put in the routers port forwarding section, ive got into my router (its a SKY broadband here in the UK) and forward ports 80 and put the lan address as the ipv4 adress in there I even forward the RSTP port aswell. theres an app for the hikvision but i dont know what i need to put where alias..... register mode..... HiDDNS / IP/Domain / IP server server address......... identifier......... user name........ password..... do i need the ip address from the config above or do i need to find my public address i even logged onto the www.hikvisioneurope.net which is thr DDNS management tool and set up a device gave it a name, put the serial number in and http port of 80, shows the device as offline though. can anyone point me in the right direction, starting to feel that ive bitten off more than i can chew as i dont really understand it even though as i say ive watched lots of youtube vids etc
