Geovision NVR with 2 camera dongle

OK. Here is what I would do. I would uninstall geovision and re install it. When you uninstall it you must delete everything in remove programs that has to do with geovision. Also delete the 2005 c++ redistributable. After that go to your c drive and delete the geo vision folders. then restart and reinstall. I would go to the geovision website and download version 8.5.9. 8.5.7 is pretty new but in the past whenever this type of thing happens it is because the software is too old so you should get the newest version. It is free you just have to click on the software tab and it will be there. The usb dongle should automatically install drivers. You shouldn't have to. But don't do it first. wait until everything else is working properly the plug the dongle in and let it do its thing. Then restart. Also, when you uninstall geovision there will be one thing in the remove programs part that wont go away so just leave it. I think it is geovision mxpg. After this is all done try adding the cameras.

    teamviewer & gv800v4

Just restart geovision. When you go to restart select the restart by startup settings. That problem occurs always with windows xp and older versions of geovision. It is from the direct draw overlay. You can upgrade to geovision 8.5.9 and shouldn't have that problem anymore.

    Geo-DVR ProKey fail

I hope I'm not too late. You either installed the wrong version of geovision or you didn't install the drivers for the card. I believe you have a gv 800. So when you install geovision you need to select that as the version you want to install. However if you have all Ip cams you don't need an gv card. you can just install the NVR version since no dongle is needed for ip cams. Well at least geovision ip cams don't need a dongle.

computer maxing out on GV-1480 card

Typically lag is caused by the ip cams taking up all of your bandwidth? What kind of network setup do you have?

    Remote Manage GV-1480 combo

Control Center is not the answer. All that does is manage a big network of multiple machines. If the cameras are analog you are out of luck but if they are ip cams the only way is to install something like team viewer or something on your dvr. From there you can remote into the machine and run the ip device utility. When tthe utility finds your cams. click on a cam and select camera adjustment. A panel of stuff like tint and brightness and stuff like that will come up and you can adjust it from there. Dm multiview is pretty much useless for adjusting things. all it does is broadcast the channels so you can see whats going and control ptz's.

Geovision NVR with 2 camera dongle

First and most important, what version of geo vision software are you running? when you plugged the usb dongle into the dvr did the drivers install automatically? Did the camera software see the cameras a Sanyo or onviv? and last when you tried to add the cameras to the dvr did you get some sort of message like there were 0 licenses left on the USB dongle?
