    Help with some wiring.

Thanks for your input. I was considering your advise at one time but since my DVR has both input and output connections I wanted to take advantage of that. It is already set up to send emails and a snapshot upon alarm. I didn't want to record the interior 2 cameras 24/7 while we were home. Mainly want them to record when we go away. Thanks also for the advise on the PIR's. I have been looking at the duel technology units which seem to have come a long ways from years ago and will go with those. Bob
  4. I have a CSP-8PRO960H with a total of 7 cameras and would like to do the following. BTY I am a retired electrician and have no trouble running wires. I have 2 interior cameras in separate areas. Since I am having difficulties (previous post) on false alerts with lighting I would like to use a PIR in each of the 2 areas to trigger the camera in that area, set off a siren in that area and send a email alert. Is this possible? Any help would be appreciated, Bob
  5. Thanks. I do have alarm inputs on the DVR. Can I use a pir that would be used in an burglar alarm system? How would I wire it? Thanks, I appreciate the input. Bob Yes you can..here is a basic example http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/DVR-Alarm-Input-Setup-s/717.htm Thanks again, appreciate the help. Bob

  7. Thanks for the info. It looks like I would have to block out to much of the area that the light shines on. I might be able to use a different light in a different area. Thanks for helping to understand this. Bob
  8. I have an indoor camera set for motion detection when we are away. A lamp that goes off at 11:30 pm triggers an event (only when it goes off) Does the fact that its a cfl bulb have anything to do with it? Thanks, Bob

    DRV issue please help.

Thanks again for your input. I will try and play with some of those settings. Having been in the alarm business many years ago I would think that a setting for this situation makes perfect sense... a motion is detected, sends out an email alert with a "snapshot" and then resets unless a second motion is detected in say 10, 20, or 30 minutes later, or what ever you want. Thanks, Bob

Channel Mode Image Size Quality Snapshot Frequency I have the Snapshot Frequency set at 5 SPL the default was 1 Mode I have set for trigger Image size I have 960H Channel 6 Quality 6 (best) Thanks, Bob

    DRV issue please help.

Thanks so much for your help. Everything on Gmail worked great. Can't believe how long I have been playing with this and all along it was the ISP. Wonder if you can help me with one more issue...my email alerts are set up for only 1 interior camera (when not home) I must have some setting wrong because when I cause a test alert there are multiple emails being sent, like 9 or 12. I do know that this system normally sends out 3 emails as follows...Motion Detect, Motion Detect w/pic, Motion Clear. How do I set how many times the alert sends emails? Thanks again, Bob

    DRV issue please help.

That is kind of funny. Can't imagine why Optimum has this issue. Been using them for 10 years and never had an issue getting a picture in an email. Thanks for the Gmail info, I will try those settings today. Bob

  14. Please help, think I posted on the wrong post. I have a CSP-8PRO960H DVR and have pretty much set up everything but I am hoping someone can help me with emailing an event with a "snapshot" When an email is sent (actually) there are 3 emails. motion detect, motion with a .jpg and motion clear. When I open the "snapshot" .jpg only about 10% of the picture is viewable the other 90% is blank. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob
