  1. Uniview. Beats Hikvision/Dahua and is slowly reaching the number 1 position in the world. Their entry level will do 150m infrared and will zoom nearly 3km, equal to about $500 (sorry, I am converting from South African Rand, and so you can realise I am gaining nothing from giving you advice) It is fully analytical. You can draw a tripwire, and if someone crosses the wire the high speed dome will start tracking the person based on the time you choose, after which it will return to it's pattern. Will push alarms to your phone over an application called EZview (based on the rules you chose, fully analytical PTZ) Just my 2 cents.
  2. Dahua unluckily started joining the cheaper Chinese market trying to compete against smaller factories and cutting corners. If I am you, have a look at Uniview. Have quite a few set up, and none of this problems. Even is full analytical and if you choose the laser PTZ you will have 500m Nightvision with 3km zoom. Pricing is about $2000, but it works. Else, use the entry level Uniview that will set you back to about $500......depending where you buy. We have reached a time where the name brands is failing and the lesser known name brands are reaching the top. Dahua and Hikvision entered the Walmart market, and is priced that way and shortcuts are taken to be there. Uniview on Cloud and push is THE BEST!!! Remember, I am based in South Africa and have nothing to gain to give you advice.
  3. I dont know where everyone gets the advice they are giving. Sorry, not to be nasty. Lots of cameras, even branded, just does not have good IR. I used cameras from Eagleview and a bought a few from www.cctvnet.co.za. There is infrared cameras that will give you a good IR view even if the person is close to the camera. Usually the ones with LOW LUX, or StarView functions will do the job correctly. If the lux is too high (usually a problem of cheap branded products) you will have the white glare on faces since it only has the IR assisting it with night vision. The chip on the camera cannot give clear vision like this. Numberplates, another problem. It will give a glare. I propose you use, again, a starlight/starview super low lux camera. These cameras will even give color if there is enough moonlight/starlight or a few street lights. Numberplates will show, and faces will be clear.
  4. I have tested the Uniview Range from Eagleview Security. Basically, if this matters, I used tripwires with 7 High speed domes. How it works is basically you set up e.g. 7 tripwires, assign a high speed dome to every tripwire, set the time the high speed dome must follow the movement (car/person/truck) and that is it. Works perfectly. You just set the length of time the PTZ must auto-track, after that it will return to its normal pattern, unless there is another trigger and the process starts again. Not sure if Dahua has this feature, but if it does, it should be just as easy. See if you can find a "time setting" under the tracking options.
  5. Ok, I will speak from my experience with Eagleview Products. The Active x component usually gets blocked by your internet explorer. Add the IP adres of the embedded to your trusted sites and drop the security to low for that IP adres (you will see this under your options in internet explorer). The Active X component should then install perfectly. Windows 10 does have a lot of security restrictions.

    Help - Client forgot password

The problem is you will have to speak to the supplier for this dvr. There is usually a super password or a super password generator available for this. For example, I deal with Eagleview Security, Regal and a few other places. They have super password generators for their products to enable you to unlock the dvr.

    Ip camera issues

Sorry, nearly forgot. It could also be a bandwidth problem. Try dropping the FPS (frames per second) on the cameras so that the POE's (network switches) do less work. Will make for better stability

    Ip camera issues

You do not have troubles if gone for analog systems. But please keep posting the message as there are many guys who keep promoting IP camera system might come to the rescue. How are you? I have been in cctv market for nearly 20 years. IP cameras can be complicated sometimes. What I would propose is the following. If using a poor quality POE switch, make sure the customer restarts the POE at least every few days...should then not give problems. Remember, IP cameras is like computers. Leave them online for a few days or weeks, something can go wrong if they don't get restarted. Dealt with a company called Eagleview and their IP cameras has a function where you can program the camera to restart itself should it loose connection, or just to restart once every few days. That will solve the problem with a unstable POE switch. Else you will have to invest in better POE's.
  9. Hi there. I dealt with the company before. They are excellent on service. If you go to www.eagleviewsecurity.co.za you will find the suppliers of this card. Software and support is available. I also used Macro Video cards before and linked them over Hamachi....using a vpn. It worked fine that way also
  10. Hi there. I have a Macro-Video dvr card I bought from Eagleview. Does anyone know this card or have any idea on how to do the remote view on it? The picture on the card is fine, just need remote view.
