    BNC connectors get hot

I have an 8 channel HD SDI DVR and I have noticed the bnc connectors on the back of the DVR get very hot to the touch. With or without cameras connected. I have contacted tech support but as always, they never give me the answer to my question "Is this normal" They will give me an RMA but I don't want to pack everything up if this is normal. The fans work just fine. I used an infrared thermal probe and the connectors reach between 86 and 90 degrees F. The ambient room temperature is 78 F.

    OSD joystick placement.

Unfortunately, the UTC control does not handle a digital signal and therefore won't work on my cameras or so I was told by my camera manufacturer. I still have my fingers crossed that someone has found a method to operate the joystick on SDI cameras at the DVR.

    OSD joystick placement.

Hello, I am a newbie and this is my first post. Can anyone tell me why camera manufacturers put the joystick so close to the camera? I would think it makes more sense to have it on the other end of the cable closer to the DVR. Does anyone know how to move this so it is inside the house and a person can make adjustments at the DVR? Is it possible? littlejohn62
