Dahua SDI output - is there an option to choose?

After some investigation, it appears that our vendor actually sent us the wrong camera (an IP only, non-SDI version).

Dahua SDI output - is there an option to choose?

Thanks for the response, Sunny. From what I understand of our DVR (the Crestron CaptureHD Pro, which is essentially a DVR) it natively accepts incoming SDI camera signals, records them and converts the signal for live viewing via the RGBHV or HDMI output. We are contacting Crestron today to confirm that and troubleshoot anything on that end, but I am still not quite sure that the Dahua cameras are sending out the SDI signal. Do you know (specifically or anecdotally) that the single BNC output on the Dahua SDI cameras puts out a composite and SDI signal simultaneously over the same connection? That is the part that is confusing us - if the Dahua is putting out that SDI signal. Sean
  3. Hello, We have two Dahua dome cameras (SD6582A-HS). We are not using them in a security situation, but rather we are trying to feed the SDI output to a Crestron product (CaptureHD Pro). There is a breakout cable on the cameras that run to a BNC connector. We have ran RG59, RG6 as well as a coaxial cable specified for SDI signals (longest run is maybe 30 feet, we have tested shorter runs as well). We can get a composite signal over the BNC pigtail from the camera. We didn't receive any manual/DVD with the cameras and I have emailed Dahua a couple times but not heard anything back. It seems to me that if the same BNC connection off the camera is used for composite that there must be an option in the camera (a jumper, dipswitch, some setting in the camera menu?) to go back and forth between SDI and composite? Or would the camera automatically select the output needed depending on what the display is? Unfortunately we have limited experience with SDI and our only display option at this point is the HDMI output on the Crestron device, hooked to a 1080p television. The composite works (and we have other Crestron Capture HD's in place being fed via composite) and we can see the video from the camera(s) via the CaptureHD displayed on the CaptureHD HDMI output. But nothing comes through when we select SDI as the input on the CaptureHD. The capture HD has a touch display that gives us some options and at this point it shows no incoming SDI signal, which has us thinking that perhaps its a camera setting? Can anyone give us any insight into this? Do you normally need to select the composite vs SDI output on these cameras or is it automatic? We have the cameras on an IP network as well, so we can change settings via the web interface (we also have a joystick control over RS 485 controlling the PTZ functions of the cameras) - but we don't see anything on the camera that suggests you can choose the type of output from that BNC connector on the camera. Any help would be appreciated, thanks! http://www.crestron.com/resources/product_and_programming_resources/catalogs_and_brochures/online_catalog/default.asp?jump=1&model=capture-hd http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/sd6582a-hs-467.html
