I have a rental property in another state and currently have an analog Everfocus 8 channel DVR with 3 exterior cameras that I had installed a year ago. I have been wanting to add a few more outdoor cameras to the perimeter and have narrowed things down to either plastic covered dome or eyeball dome cameras.
My question are:
1.) Which would be a better more reliable style? I am looking for low profile, something that blends in and is not too obtrusive.
2.) Is there a huge difference between 700, 1000 and 1200 TVL?
3.) Would I be making a huge mistake in buying Chinese stock from eBay? I am particularly looking at Sony Effio cameras.
Please keep in mind that I am looking for simple perimeter cameras. I'm not looking to watch employees counting money or anything like that.
I am looking for something economical that will last for a few years. I am not opposed to replacing a camera here or there every few years if need be but they do need to be reliable because I can only visit the property 2-3 times per year.
