Do any of the cameras work on poe? Is it a built in nic, or external poe switch? Could be something popped in the switch. I would imagine they have some built in protection. can you check to see if you have voltage between the blue & brown pairs?

Good Afternoon! I picked up a Hikvision DS7608NI-SE/P pretty cheap so I am testing it out. Seems like a very straight forward NVR. I connected a couple of Avrecont 3155DN (3mp) dome cameras & used the NVR's built in arecont protocol. I used an external 10/100 switch rather than the built in 8 port poe nic as I wanted to have access to the cameras from my browser. it found the camera & connected no problem. The problem I have is the hikvision will only allow me to choose a 1.3mp resolution (1280x1024) in the settings. I tired creating a custom protocol using the RTSP path & it will not connect to the camera at all. Could be these two devices are not going to work together in 2048x1536 but wanted to see if anyone here had any other ideas or experiences. Thanks!
