    What happened to this camera?

Thanks. I couldn't even get to it. It literally "fixed itself" overnight. Would faulty power supply be the culprit?
  2. Hi everyone: I'm sorry for posting this blunt question, but I don't know how else to explain it. Here's the recording from the surveillance camera that went from clear to whatever-its-doing now: I know that no one messed with it at that time. All I could see was that it was starting to rain and that's it. PS. At the end, you can (somewhat) see me coming out and trying to tap on it. Anyway, any idea what is wrong with it?
  3. Guys, I'm curious if anyone else is dealing with this. We're a small self-storage company. We purchased a stand-alone (local) server from ExacqVision several years back. It basically has a display (DVR) box that displays all cameras in our office, and we have an iPad software from them that we can use to view the cameras remotely. The iPad app was a work horse for me, as I use it to see what's going on while I'm not in the office. Unfortunately though, the app has been so buggy, that I had a hard time using it. But it still "kinda" limped along and worked after needing to be restarted several times. Today though they issued an update that totally broke it. This is what I'm getting now: I'm curious, does anyone else who also uses Exacq system have this happen, and do you know of any fix? PS. Unfortunately I can't contact their tech support. Since about last year, their system started showing pop-ups telling us that our support has expired. When we contacted them, it turns out that they want $600 per year more (aside from thousands of dollars that we already paid for this local standalone system.) So we obviously said no to that racket. So, yeah, that's the kinda rip-off that company is. (Sorry, for venting. I'm just very frustrated to have lost "eyes" on our property. Something that we paid Exacq specifically for.)
  4. Hmm, interesting. There's indeed a camera in that location. But why would it be spraying IR toward this camera. It should be pointing more than 90 degrees in a different direction.
  5. Hi everyone: Let me start off by saying that my knowledge of IP cameras is quite limited. So please bear with me. Let me explain what happened. At our facility we've recently installed this IP camera. After about 6 months in, I started noticing that the camera was cycling through bright and dark modes in about 5 to 10 seconds and continues to do so throughout the night. This causes the attached DVR to needlessly record. (In a normal situation the DVR is set up to record masked motion only.) We've called the installer, the company that put that camera up, and they basically told us that this is our problem now. So I'm trying to see if there's anything I can do about this camera myself before we involve anyone else into this situation. So here's the video of how this camera records during the day: (It was exported directly from the DVR.) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xJMdXgS7IGgjZ8UMPWaVil1g1ecqChxm/view And here's how it looks like at night: (I had to record it off of my smartphone, but it shows what happens.) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kMtj9AHSlLlffWtB_ATwqshp7-yCzA9o/view You can probably see (by that yellow hatch on the left) that it goes into black and white mode, then does that bright flash and then darkens up and goes back into color mode and then repeats this over and over again until morning. Also note that in reality there's no bright light or anything that flashes outside (even though it looks like that from this recording.) Additionally, I'm not sure if it matters, when I tried to export that night video from the DVR itself (and the reason that I recorded it with a smartphone above) is that it doesn't come out anything close to what it looks like on the screen. Here it is: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hHAawJoKF9tjKIJBlWguIyEavvhzNStp/view Lastly, just to give you the specs for the camera. Here's what I can get from the DVR for it: Do you have any idea how to fix this?
  6. I'm looking for a solution and I'm curious if anyone has ever come across one? This is for our small office / business. It should do this: - Small "panic"-type button that an office manager can click/hit covertly. (I want to stress that this is not for 911-type emergencies. So we don't need a capability to place a silent 911 call. This is for the situation when a (female) office manager gets a (male) customer that stays in for too long, or a similar non-emergency situation. In this case if we get this message someone will come out and "assist" her in handling such a "prolonged" visit.) - Ideally this setup should be able to send out text messages to a group of people. It'd be awesome if we could customize text for such a message. - Also it would be nice if such system could be plugged in, so that we didn't have to deal with batteries.
  7. Hi everyone: I should admit that I haven't done this for a while. I'm looking to replace a faulty security camera in our shop. It's a pretty old one: DSC BWCD-200SR. Here's a couple pictures of it: I tried searching online for the model number to replace it with, but couldn't find anything. I'm not looking for anything fancy, since it was a B&W camera. So any suggestions guys? PS. Our business is located in the Washington State, US.
