  1. Hi Is it possible to connect a device running HiK Vision's ivms-4500 client software to a streaming server that's set up as part of a ivms-4200 installation? this is internally on the LAN (external access is via a vpn on the device first then to the cameras or better yet would be the media streaming server). I have the 4500 software running great (amazing what you get for what you don't need to spend with this Hik stuff!) on a couple of androids making a vpn connection then directly to the cameras. This kind of defeats the purpose of having a streaming machine if we still have clients accessing the cameras directly etc. This has come up in few forums/support pages but there doesn't seem to be a definitive yes or no (or I've missed it!) .. I've downloaded and about to try the pro 5200 version which seems to have a few more bits that may work ... one of the work arounds on this was to use the PCNVR version of the 4200 software? Not sure how this would help or work? Any pointers or help would be much appreciated Cheers!
  2. hi what about down grading the latest cameras with v5.2 firmware so they work with the IMS software? Sorry this may already be covered but getting lost in all these forums/info! Cheers
