  1. I have over 40 BigDog/Divis analog units I pulled from several of my locations. Was curious if there is any value in these analog DVR computers? They were running Windows XP and Windows 7 along with the Divis software, and have 16 analog inputs. I am not going to be using them any further. Thanks
  2. I did not. Appears the software on the NVR specifically looks for certain hardware to use for some sillyreason. I broke down and purchased a couple of matching cameras to get around the issue for now. I need to finish building my Zoneminder box and if all works well, I'll dump the Swann NVR.
  3. Below is the response I got from Swann support today. Since I am trying to add the SWNHD-806CAM, they state they are not compatible to my NVR8-7200. Still going to try the steps KHX73 told me about when I get back home on Friday. ---------- Thank you for your interest in Swann! 4. khx73, Thanks for the info. Didn't realize I could use one of the un-used ports on the NVR8-7200 as a POE switch (Makes sense though). Trying it now. What subnet should I use for the 192.0.0.x address? I'm trying 255.255.255.0 which I would think would be a typical one for that IP, but nothing responding yet. Thanks
  5. Swann NVR8-7200. I was also wondering if configuring the 720p cameras to operate as ONVIF would work? The NVR8-7200 has a manual config option for a camera to use ONVIF, but I am not familiar with ONVIF. In case this will help anyone, the 720p camera model number is: SWNHD-806CAM
  6. Ok, Joey, Are you stating I should switch out the firmware because you know it will resolve this issue I am having? And if so, where do I find the Hikvision firmwares to match up to my model of DVR? Thanks
  7. They are Swann cameras. They are the 720p POE IP cameras. I have a sick feeling the software on this Swann DVR is coded to only to allow the 1080p cameras to work on this DVR even though they probably are compatible. Swann support has not responded back to me yet, and if this DVR is only going to allow a specific model of camera, I may want to dump the DVR and build my own. Being a Linux guy, the Zoneminder DVR software looked interesting. Just would rather use everything I bought. I also bought the 720p pan-tilt camera for use in the house (Haven't taken it out of the box yet). Hopefully, I can get these additional cameras to work.
  8. I have a Swann DVR8-7200 that came with 4 1080p IP cameras. I was told by the person at the store (Tiger Direct storefront) that the Swann 720p IP cameras would work with this DVR, so I purchased three. -Since the store was going out of business I got a great deal on all the hardware. None of the 720P cameras are working. The DVR is showing none are being detected. The cameras are glowing, and I've even used a short Ethernet cable into the DVR to ensure it wasn't the cabling. The 1080p cameras are working great. My question is, are these camera compatible, and if so, what do I need to do to get them to work with this DVR, or is this DVR configured by the factory to only work with the 1080p IP cameras like the 4 it came with? Thanks
