    Lorex NVR

Tom I have to ask about the reply you posted to understand what you are saying? Backstreet Surveillance and their product videos? (I am not familiar with these guys and I have not seen their videos) the confusion is around your statements - "his demos show 90% dahua ....... and then put same equipment down with Lorex name" "Guy lives in a dream world if he thinks he is better than Flir." just checking - you are aware that all Lorex product and most of the non thermal Flir gear is manufactured by Dahua right? Lorex and Flir put their "badge" on Dahua gear. and "Better than flir yet he manufactures nothing and sells dahua" Lorex manufacturers nothing and rebrands Dahua - Flir rebrands Dahua white label cameras for their video security product line (non-thermal) as I read your reply to Travelerusa40 I think you are telling him that Backstreet is less a company because they use white label Dauha as their product line? Lorex and Flir are superior product due to them cranking out cameras manufactured by them at their respective factories? am I reading this wrong?

    hikvision dvr password hacked

Yes Please share the link - I have 15 HV NVR's at client locations that are affected. This hack seems to be growing with little to no communication from the vendors
  3. Supercoupe - am I right in understanding your issue that the POE cameras are not powering up via the Powerline connection (12v DC camera power)? If yes this will not work as all the powerline is doing is converting the TCP packets to transport across the wire, not the DC across the AC connection. You would have to use a 12v power supply at each camera location to power the camera unit. You can get the video to travel via the Powerline transport but our experience has seen issues when trying to run 1080p successfully on more than 2 cameras in the same structure (same building, same electrical service) One install we have that the customer wanted only Powerline to be used rather than the expense of running new Cat5e loses video to all his cameras when the air conditioners kick on (data via PL on BNC "HD" system) Lorex's suggestion to use wireless is probably the best although like "death from firing squad or death from hanging" either one you die...run some Cat5 connections to the cameras
  4. Gentlemen - please excuse my newbie post to the forum, and I thank you in advance for your input. We have a client that owns a chain of theaters here in the midwest. We are installing IP camera (Axis/mix) solution and all going well but he hit us with a new requirement this weekend. His spec. for the "in theater" cameras to operate while the film is running: 1. Can operate in the low light condition that you have in any typical theatre. 2. Provides reasonable view of theater (avg 100' x 60") with placement on the ceiling (or near to) 3. Can deliver a view of activity of the patrons. Primarily slip/fall and vandalism protection. 4. Doesn't have the glow from the IR on the lens that you see on a camera So we were feeling good on this one until he brought up #4. Is this possible as ALL cameras have the IR glow that he is concerned about? I tried selling by telling him that the exit signs have a glow much brighter than any camera, but it was not what he was wanting to hear. Cheers! 360°
