Hi all, like many I wish I had found this forum before I purchased however that was not the way it worked out. I have simple CCTV needs insofar as a one camera set up to keep an eye on my drive and watch out for fly tippers etc. I have purchased a Swann Pro-860 camera, a 12” LCD monitor from HK and a CCTV DVR with 1TB hard disc online. I have hooked them up and all seems to be working - but with a few glitches. The camera seems OK but the monitor is apparently the wrong resolution as I am missing the camera logo etc. bottom left and the date/time are only just on the screen top right. I have been told I need a monitor with a resolution of 1280*720 and I should pick up an old PC monitor? I have limited room for a monitor and 15” would be the max. size I could fit. The DVR has a Chinglish instruction manual which is a bit complex to say the least. I think I have set up the Motion Detect area and alarm OK but come night time the infrared operation sets off the alarm every time a bug/spider etc. crooses the camera so I have turned off the alarm for now. As I can’t see the bottom left camera indication I’m not sure if I’m recording or not and at this time I have not figured out how to access recorded files. I’m sure most of these issues have probably been covered elsewhere on this forum but I’m not clear how to access them at the moment so if someone could give me some general pointers it would be much appreciated. I would like to end up with a set up that is super reliable and can be left on 24/7.
