  1. Yes, VGA. I was trying to hook the computer monitor that wasn't working with the DVR to a laptop, but couldn't get the monitor to display. I'm going to wait for the new hard drive and see if it fixes the problem(s). Thanks again.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion. I removed the HD and rebooted. No beeping and the buttons on the front of the DVR seem to be working. But still no display output. Is this normal with no HD installed, or should I have display on my monitor? Thanks it should display...check the cable, test the monitor... Thanks for the help. I need to get to a computer with a serial cable connector so I can test the monitor. I tried hooking it to a windows laptop and couldn't get it to work, but not positive if it was the monitor not working or just not the correct settings to display. I checked our TV in our bedroom which is connected through a coax cable to the DVR, and it works. There is an error message that says the HD needs formatting. So I ordered a fresh hard drive from Amazon and will try a new monitor later. It would be very odd that the HD and monitor failed at the same time.

  4. I've had this DVR for a couple years with no problems. It started beeping yesterday with no output on the screen (monitor). It beeps about once per second. The light to the left of the hard drive is solid blue. There are 5 lights at the front, only one is lit solid green, the one that has a light bulb icon. I tried plugging it into a different power source with the same results. Any idea what this could be? If it was a hard drive failure wouldn't the monitor still work? Picture attached. Thanks for any ideas.
