  1. This is my first project dealing with CCTV and DVR systems, so please excuse any newbness. I've rebuilt a desktop for a client that had some hardware issues and there was no saving the current software because the user had forgotten their credentials and lost the serial from it's original installation. This system was running a CCTV setup for the user for viewing and recording (motion detected) 12 different cameras in a business environment. It's running a KMC4400r for it's capture card and was running Win XP / Diginet 3.x. I am trying to find new CCTV/DVR software after format and install of Windows XP (could not find any Win 7 drivers for KMC4400r anywhere after a few hours spent searching). On top of the repair, I'm also hoping to make some improvements since the user now owns a smart phone. I'd like to offer the ability to remote view via Android or iOS (eventually through VPN, although beyond importance to this question). Therefore, I'll need to be running a server (Diginet was running Apache on this box before reformat), and clients for both mobile platforms. The server will also need to be able to continue to record, using motion detection, onto this machine's two hard drives and allow the user to use the server to view it's cameras as well. It seems, after much research, that the majority of the software that meets these requirements is proprietary and I'm hoping to find something (preferably free, but not opposed to purchasing the right software) that works with these cards and can offer all the necessary applications mentioned here. I'm also not opposed to installing a different OS (Linux distro running Zoneminder, Windows 2003, etc...) if it would fit this application better. Primarily, I'm just hoping to find some suggestions from someone with experience in the field here. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the research I'm doing here and I feel like someone out there could potentially read this and offer what to them is a no brainer combination of client/server software for this combination of hardware. Thanks in advance!
