  1. A friend of mine had a robbery recently and the police have requested the footage on a DVD so they can view it. I have gone over, the box is a generic one with DVR H.264 on front - no other info on make or model of the box. This is a 4 camera setup. One front it has 2 USB port - the bottom has a mouse symbol where a mouse is plugged in. There are some buttons on front with left/right up/down and a centre button like a return key I have managed to export the footage to a USB drive and I get 2 files a .DAT file and .IDX file. I have ran the DAT file thru Media Info and get this General Complete name : D:\tmp\BACKUP_20150928193705.dat Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec File size : 1.36 GiB Video Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : Baseline@L2 Format settings, CABAC : No Format settings, ReFrames : 2 frames Width : 352 pixels Height : 288 pixels Display aspect ratio : 1.222 Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Anyway I can convert the file into a AVI and then convert it to DVD
