    Costco lorex system

Are the NVR kits from Costco any good? I need a 4 camera kit for my house and wonder if it's too good to be true wth that price.

    New build

Trying to put together a DIY system this summer. Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I 4MP IR Bullet Network Camera POE Day Night Vision IP66 Waterproof HD Home Security Surveillance CCTV camera 4mm Lens English Retail Version https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M1EMS52/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_grAhzbX8TPCNE I need 4 cameras to cover up to a maximum distance of 30 yards at the farthest distance. Waterproof and night vision friendly. I would also like to view them from my smartphone. Which NVR would you recommend getting... As the hikvision on Amazon has mediocre ratings at best. And would I need anything else other than the cameras, wires and NVR? Thanks!

    Advice on IP camera kit

Hi there! Im interested in buying a 4 camera ip NVR combo for my second floor soffit. I live in New York so I need the cameras to hold up to all temperatures and precipitation. I would like to have it record motion and get access to my smart phone (Android). I'd like vision at night and I need about 50 to 80 ft Max distance. The budget seems to be max 1000. From my research it looks like hikvision is a top brand although I'm not sure on the finer points between models. Also final question is where do you recommend buying the kits? Thanks!
  4. I'm attempting to set up a NVR outdoor camera system for my home by myself. Choosing the equipment seems to be a pain. Looking for 4 cameras that can withstand NY weather (rain/snow and temps from 90+ to below freezing). I would like clear enough picture to grab a license plate or some facial features. Approximately 30-40 ft range. Hoping to stay under the $1000 mark although im flexible. Not sure if this is even relevant to say, but i would also like to view it from my smartphone at any time with no monthly fee. Thanks for any input! Edit - after more research on this site im taking a jump in the water and saying im leaning towards DS-2CD2132F-IS 4x for the cameras and the dvr is ds 7808n - e2/8p . Would i need to buy anything else if the connection was very simple?
