  1. Hello all! I would like to ask two questions about AVTECH AVC717D/AVD717/CPD507HC 16CH MPEG4: Question #1: Does anybody know what ERROR 12-000 visible in SYSTEM LOG really is? Is it HDD related or software/MEM/CPU? Manual tells me that it may be HDD related (tons of HDDs tested), but what kind of error it is? DVR works fine for some time, but after couple of hours it shows SCANNING DISC, PLEASE WAIT hangs for some minutes and is restarted by timer. Then 12-000 error arrives in system log. After the first flaw it tends to repeat that scan/restart loop forever. DVR was bought as a brand new item! NOTES: Following steps done: 1. Replaced HDD with the same, smaller, bigger, brand new E-IDE (sic!), brand new S-ATA, only one or all three. Tons of 100% working HDDs were tested (400GB-500GB). Replaced ribbons. Replaced fan. 2. New and working internal PSU board and AC/DC adapter attached. 3. Reflashed it 3 times (official firmware 2040 M3). 4. Done DVR reset/clear and all HDDs format. Those steps NOT helped me. Still the same error. Is it software/firmware or mainboard failure? Is there any possibility of testing mainboard components, like full memory test? Question #2: Is there anything like logs or root console? I mean anything like serial connection that shows AVTECH logs OR anything like root telnet with shell. Are there any pins that work as RS232 connection? FINAL NOTE: Changing DVR model is NOT a viable option for me.
