upgrading NVR from Hikvision 7716 to 9632

Thank you for the response. I solved the problem by getting the temp password the installer used to set up the first set of cameras. Best regards. . .
  2. Hi I have purchased a 9632-NI8 NVR to upgrade a 7716 SP16. As you may know the 7716 has 16 POE ports which assign IP addresses. All the cameras were added using plug-and-play configuration so no passwords are manually set. My new configuration uses a 48 port POE switch connected to a router with DHCP enabled. The 9632 NVR connects fine to this same subnet. I am unable to add the old cameras to the new NVR- they show up on the 9632 camera list with the old IP address but cannot be activated. They show up on SADP tool but I do not have the correct password to change the cameras to DHCP. I tried using main password for old 7716 NVR. Also tried changing camera to manual setup on 7716 NVR and adding a password. Still cannot change config with SADP tool (password rejected) and now camera gives error message (wrong user or password) and there is no video image. All camera firmware and 7716 firmware up to date. I only tried to add/troubleshoot one camera. I reconnected the other 15 cameras back to the 7716 and they are working fine. My questions: How do I fix camera #1 that I referred to above? Is there a simple way to change the other 15 cameras to DHCP enabled so I can add them to my new NVR? Do I need to request password resets for all 16? Thank you very much

    Direct login to cameras

Cameras are all Hikvision as well.

I have a Hikvision 7716 NVR with 9 cameras connected to the POE ports on the NVR. The cameras are assigned IP addresses by the NVR on a private subnet. I want to connect directly to the cameras and tweak some image settings I cannot adjust from NVR setup. I was thinking of connecting my laptop to one of the NVR ports to get access to the subnet and cameras. Will this work? What do I use for camera password? Now this is automatically configured by NVR using plugnplay setting. Thanks in advance
  5. I found a chart on Hikvision.com in tech documents section with recommended bit rates. Based on my cameras and resolution mine were set too low. I increased to 4k and so far playback of recordings with the new settings has been much better.
  6. The problem occurs when I playback directly from the NVR, so that rules out the network, which is all gigabit backbone. I did not try playing a backup. Good suggestion but honestly if that is what I have to do to playback video I would find that unacceptable.
  7. Just had above NVR professionally installed with 7 3MP Hikvision cameras. Notice stuttering or freezing of playback particularly if there is motion in the scene pretty much all the time. Similar with remote and local access. Current settings: 2048x1536, 8fps, 2048kb max bitrate, continuous record on all channels with motion detection enabled. I thought this might be CPU saturation so I decreased frame rate (to 4) and image record resolution (1080P) on all cameras with no change. Real time viewing is fine. All firmware up to date. Wanted to see if I could troubleshoot this a bit more before I call installer. Thanks in advance for any tips/help.
