  1. Dahua NVR EMAIL / SMTP with Gmail settings - setup that works! Spent most of the day trying to get this going -crazy! AND it WORKS!!!!!! OMG! All you do is enter the settings as per my attached screen capture - that's the easy bit and THEN the key to it ALL that got me and has wasted my day!!! ... Is the bit were Google apparently announced it's intentions back in April 2014 to apparently switch in OAuth 2.0 to make it's services more secure. Which is good in one way but not if Dahua doesn't support it yet! So you next go to your Google account settings (for which the gmail email belongs) (not into gmail settings) and you "enable less secure apps" as per my other attached screen capture. Also apparently this NVR email doesn't work if you have have enabled two-factor authentication for the account. And like magic you press TEST and it works!! Hope this saves people wasting a day like I have. Have fun Regards Scott PS lots of talk about DNS causing this NVR email to fail. i.e. settings in: Network > TCP/IP > Prefered DNS but mine worked fine without changing the Dahua default DNS which is using Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for IPv4 service. Also you don't need to enable POP or IMAP or anything like that within Gmail Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > POP Download, etc
