  1. Hi there! I am thinking of adding the DS-2CD2185FWD-I to my collection. Now I see that on the site of Hikvision they do not talk about any microphone/audio functions. Some sellers on ebay sell it without audio, some sell it with audio. You can actually see different cables coming from the camera, so it is not just a matter of bad copy/pasting information Is this normal for Hikvision? To sell a product in different subversions? Or is one maybe for the chinese market or one for the european? Any tips or information is greatly appreciated. Demesmaeker

    Cannot find a 4mp NVR

Hi there! Thank you for the answer. Today I ordered a 4k NVR that can encode 12mp, 8mp, 6mp, 5mp but 4mp too I even doublechecked with the provider that it can actually record the format that Dahua 4mp has as the max (2688 x 1520) model of the NVR : BCS-NVR3202-4K Now I keep my fingers crossed Have a great day! Cannot find a 4mp NVR

Thank you. I understand now! Still strange that most NVR-chipset-creators skip 4mp in their standard. But as you can see in the post above, a few have support for 4mp.

    Cannot find a 4mp NVR

To answer my own question ( I googled a lot more ) : The 7608ni-e2 can record 4mp. To quote other users : "7608ni-e2 is the one I have doesn't list 4MP but it recorded my 4MP Hik domes when I had them." "7608N/NI will 100% record 4MP. What you are talking about is compatibility issues with Chinese xxx5 cameras which don't work with the 7600 series for PoE below v3.3.4" The 7600NI-I2/8P can also record 4mp To quote other users : "S-7600NI-I2/8P has arrived, things seem much better than the DS-7608NI-E2 with 4MP cameras" " The 7600NI-I2 has no PoE ports, so it won't have an issue with the xxx5 cameras and PoE compatibility" The TC-NR2020M7-S4 can also record 4mp, but not all resolutions that are called 4mp. Only the one that is 2560 x 1440. (4MP = 2688× 1520 but also 2560× 1440. Both are called 4mp)
  7. I bought a NVR that can record "up to 5mp". So I assumed that it also could record 4mp. But after hours of trying to get the 4mp cameras to work, i discovered that my NVR can record 720, 1080, 3mp and 5mp, but not 4mp. Too bad So then I thought, okay, my own fault, lets accept the loss and buy a new NVR again, but this time one that can record 3mp AND 4mp (since i have both). And... I cannot find any? Very strange! If the hardware can take on 5mp, why "ban" any lower resolutions? Any one any tips on a NVR that can record 4mp? (in total 5 cameras : 3 x 4mp, 2 x 3mp) IP camera : DH-IPC-HDBW4421EP Resolutions that are not working on my nobrand NVR: 2688x1520 2560x1440 2304x1269 greetings, Demesmaeker

    How connect pelco nvr onvif

Can you tell a bit more? How does your setup look? What part is unclear for you? Or are you getting errors when trying to connect to your camera? Or can you not find your camera?
  9. Hi! I bought a brandless NVR. I did my homework and discovered that the motherboard is a NBD7024H-P After a bit of googling, I discovered that almost all brandless NVRs have the same Linuxdistribution. Any way, I am having lots of questions, but the most important ones are these. I numbered them because I can imagine that someone can only answer one or two of them 1) When I record a channel with the motion detection on, it starts recording around 2 seconds too late. This is probably because the detection takes time. If I ever would have a thief then every second counts, so in that case it would be better to record non stop (no problem with disk space!). Is it not possible to make the the NVR record non stop "in cache", and then when there is movement add -5 seconds to the video it records? This way I would get a video a few seconds Before the movement until a few moments after the last movement. 2) Can I maybe record non stop (full quality, 4MP camera) AND use the same stream for motion detection as well? So that it records non stop AND records all movements? This would also solve the problem even though the small videos are missing a few seconds. I could then look up the rest in the "main video stream". This would be a bad solution for me, because I have 4 more cameras on the way, and that would mean that I would have more then 8 channels (the max!) in use. 3) On a Russian forum I discovered that telnet was disabled in the latest version. Of course I updated when the NVR asked me to, so I am missing Telnet now. Has any one the same problem or a solution? No real big problem, but I would like to have full control. 4) What is this linuxdistribution called? Who is the developer? This would make it easier for me to google. It does not look like the developer of the hardware (xiongmaitech) is the developer of the Linuxdistribution. 5) The manual that came with this NVR sucks. That is what one gets for buying cheap stuff Did any one make out of frustration a better manual? 6) With motion detection, there i a value of 2 for the keyword "interval". What does this mean? I tried to find out what it means by changing the values, but I did not succeed. 7) Does this NVR not have any "preview of all movements"-function? Now I have to click on every capture. Sorry for my "noob-questions". Any answer is greatly appreciated!!! Camera 1 : Dahua 3Mpx DH-IPC-HDBW2300RP-Z Camera 2-5 : ordered, not received yet : Dahua 4Mpx DH-IPC-HDBW4421EP-0280B
