  1. The IVMS 4500 app on my android phone fails remote connection attempts to my Hikvision IP camera about 80% of the time. However, connections are successful 100% of the time when connecting via my network wi-fi. The phone signal (4G Lte) is not that good in my location - varies between -105 dbm to -120dbm (1 to 3 bars on 6 bar scale). Could this be the problem ? Or, could some type of setup issue (app or camera) be involved ?
  2. Yes...I just found that out. I setup a GMX account and configured the camera email with the GMX server and sender's address and my gmail account as receiver and it worked fine.
  3. I just received my Hikvision DS-2CD2012-I mini bullet IP cam 2 days ago, and basic setup for browser viewing with LiveView was pretty straight forward. However, email setup from the configuration menu failed to work - keep getting "testing failed" with TEST button. I've verified the setup parameters multiple times and tried different ports 465,587,and 25 to no avail. I'm thinking that maybe there is Hikvision compatibility issues with Gmail. Also, LiveView wouldn't work with Chrome, but does with IE. I have the latest available firmware 5.30-150513. Anyone experience similar problems with gmail or Chrome ?
  4. for a dc device , current is simply the wattage divided by the voltage. So, in your case it would be 250 ma, and to be safe a power adapter around 400 to 500 ma should work, of course, assuming that your power consumption is only 3 watts.
