  1. hi everyone. Installed 3 outdoor bullet type GW IP cameras. They have an ethernet jack tail that I planned to stuff inside the mounting plate on the side of the house siding but it is too big to fit. So we just left the ethernet wire and jack (plugged in of course) under the white siding mount plate. This is the same type of plate you would mount a light fixture on etc. I know it isn't recommended and may even be dumb (there I said it) for the wiring to see the elements but is it really that bad? I ran POE to the cameras so no external power adapter was needed here. It is just the camera "tail" and the ethernet drop hanging outside the house. Thoughts? Problem is they are so high up and am relying on friends in construction to help mount these things.
  2. Thanks, I do feel there needs to be some tweaking in the browser. I tried IE and Firefox and tried IE in Compatibility Mode to no avail. Chrome is not supported by the plugin. The cams came with this software called CU and it works fine within that software so I guess I am happy it works! thanks!
  3. Hi. I am dabbling in IP cameras and have a question on this model I just purchased 3 of. I was able to log into the camera via IP address just fine. The window that shows what the camera is looking at is blank however. With other IP cameras I've used, the window in the browser window just shows what the camera is looking at no problem. I don't see any adjustments anywhere but honestly, didn't have the directions booklet with me last night when I was playing with this so I don't know if there was something I missed. When first logging onto the browser, it had me load a plugin. That worked fine. And then got a blank screen. Any thoughts? Bad camera possibly? I will try the other two later tonight. thanks!
