  1. Hi, I am looking to install a brand new setup to my bungalow and I need some advice on the best equipment to buy for my needs. I need 4 x vari focal cameras that are excellent at night and can record in 1080p I need to locate these in the attic of my bungalow and locate the cameras on each corner of the building I want to record on a dvr and have a couple of spare inputs for future proofing and the dvr needs to be able to record in 1080p with motion detection as well as being able to view on a computer or ipad and export any footage I need. I will locate the dvr in the attic of my building and run a cat5 to the router. I don't want basic / cheap products that will give me problems, but to be able to record in crystal clear picture, day or night. is it better for HD-TVI or IP equipment ? I could buy a kit or buy separately but what would be the best option. I keep seeing the hikvision brand. thanks a lot for any answers and help.

    Coax VS Cat5

Hi everyone. this is a first post and I am sort of in the same boat. I live in a bungalow and want to install a camera at each corner of the building and be able to watch it on the tv in the living room as well as be able to record and back up from a period in the past. do I go ip camera / cloud or 1080p camera and dvr? if so what best cable to use. coax or cat 5, and how to get 4 camera cables to the box in the living room. Do I route them outside and drill inward somewhere near the tv ? I would like to install this myself if possible. thanks for all / any help.
