Views on Hikvision DVR's please ??

Thanks for that After a few Google searches, there doesn't seem to be much info out there on a Quattro 5, what is it that makes it better than the Hik's ??
  2. Hi, I'm looking for a DVR for home use, and wondered what peoples' opinions are on the Hikvision DS-7208 range ?? As I mentioned in a previous post of mine, I'm finding it impossible to nail a decent DVR for £300'ish, as I just can't find out the information I need on the web (and I don't understand the first thing about CCTV ) I'm looking for an 8 channel DVR which I will initially run 4 good quality cameras from. I want to be able to record at continuous high quality for a couple of weeks, so will need a large capacity hard drive, I want good quality images, and I want to be able to remote view the footage on my phone. Are Hikvision DVR's any good, or are there better ones on the market for a similar price ?? Cheers, Graeme.

    Best DVR for £300'ish ??

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply I can't multitask and research camera's at the same time as DVR's, or that will just push me over the edge and the computer will go out the window !! Damn this autism !! I'll be buying the camera's separate, and will probably be going for 1080 to try and capture some good quality images. Cheers, Graeme.
  5. Hi Just joined the forum, as I'm looking to build the best home CCTV system I can for a certain amount of money, and I'm struggling to find any reliable information. I'm looking for the best 8 channel HD DVR, that I can view on a remote app, with at least a 2TB hard drive, for a 4 camera system that I can add more cameras to later. It's the DVR I need to nail at the moment, then I will add the camera's later. The way I tend to do things is to research something to death to come to the most logical conclusion. Unfortunately, this is soooooo frustrating on the internet, as there does not seem to be a definite answer. There doesn't even seem to be a top 5 of DVR's ?? There is just no reliable information out there. Hopefully, by asking someone in the trade, who deals with CCTV on a daily basis, I can move forward All I want someone to say this is the best HD DVR you can buy for £300'ish. There must be a DVR that stands out above the others ?? If I don't get any help, I'm gonna end up buying a SWANN !! Cheers, Graeme.
