  1. I have a Foscam FI9853EP PoE IP cam what according to a data sheet I have found online, has a 1/4" CMOS Sensor. The camera is a 720P camera and has a advertised field of view of 70°. As I needed a wider angle lens, so I bought by self a "115° Degree Fixed Iris Wide Angle Lens" online what has the same focal length (2.8mm) as the stock 70° lens, although it is a 1/3" format lens and not a 1/4" lens like the sensor on my camera. In summary: Camera: 1MP 6.4mm (1/4") CMOS Sensor. Old Lens: 70°, f:2.8mm, F/1.2, Presumed 1/4" format matching sensor. New Lens: 115°, f:2.8mm, F/2.0, 1/3" Format. If I am correct, a 1/4" sensor has 0.5739 of the area of a 1/3" sensor. Will the field of view be 65° (115° x 0.5739), or will it be 86° (115 ÷ 1.33) due to 1/4 * 1.33 = 1/3 mathematically. Regards: Elliott.
