  2. anyone get this working in linux without a vm? thanks
  3. HiDDNS service is being discontinued. You'd be better to setup a dynamic dns service like NOIP. Then manually forward the correct ports to each camera. Remember to turn off uPNP on the cameras that can mess things up. Or just on your router.
  4. For new firmware Hikvision you can enable virtual host. Configuration > Network > Advanced > Other - tick virtual host and apply Go to System > Camera Management - click the link under the connect column to have a NAT's connection to the camera. You can also setup routing now if your are familiar. Ensure the cameras have their gateway set to 192.168.254.1 Then you can add a route to 192.168.254.0/24 in your router next hop the NVR If you ping the NVR but can't get the cameras remember to login to the cameras and update the gateway to the NVR.
  5. I had some issues with HiDDNS seems to be back up and working now. HiDDNS is being shutdown. You will be unable to register new clients some time in February. Existing clients should not be effected. NOIP is cheaper than DynDNS. I have used NOIP succesfully. The NVR will not renew the hostname it has to be done manually. (obviously they do this because they want you to pay) If you don't renew it once the hostname expires you can't recreate it you have to make a new one. Meaning you have to log back into the clients machine and update it. Very annoying.
  6. reboot works via serial. doesn't look to work via ssh.
