  1. As for the systems record mode and record schedules, they are exactly precisely identical to the record mode and record schedule of the nvr in the photograph. It is set to 24/7 continuous recording with all of the motion detection settings on. I do receive alerts from the hik-connect website on my mobile phone and can view motion alerts on the updated interface which as I said in the original post is useful, I just do not get the green markers.
  2. You are just being deliberately awkward tomcctv. I spent the best part of four hours trying everything I could think of when I was at my other property to get the green motion indicators to display. I then drove home and created this post. You said it was an "easy fix" so I simply ask you to explain how to do it. Instead of being helpful you just make two pointless comments. The blue timeline on the upgraded nvr simply does not have the green indicators below it. There is nothing really to show, I just said I would take a photo for comparison. If anybody was able to provide some easy instructions of what I am doing wrong I could try this next time I was there to see if it worked.
  3. Also, you said: "blue is continuously there is no motion as recording is set to 24hr" If there is no motion, why am I getting the smart motion indicators beneath the blue continuous timeline? Remember the images are from the nvr that has not been upgraded. This is what I want to achieve on the upgraded NVR.
  4. Please don't say "wow such an easy fix" and then not provide clear instructions precisely how it can be fixed. I provided an image that clearly shows a continuous blue timeline with green motion indicators beneath it. I do not get this at all with the upgraded interface. Kindly provide detailed instructions how I can get the green motion indicators back beneath the blue timeline when playing back recorded footage. The upgraded NVR is at my other property. I will take a photograph of that playback screen next time I am there and then post it on here.
  5. Having done more research into this and having posted my question on a few other forums it appears the latest Hikvision NVR firmware has simply done away with these features. My previous NVR Firmware was V3.4.105 (old style interface). I'm thinking about finding the latest V3.x.x Firmware (so pre V4) and doing a Firmware rollback. Does anyone have any experience of rolling back to older versions of firmware? I know the manufacturers frown upon this, but in reality people do this all the time. I am willing to risk bricking my NVR to try and get back the features that I want. Any advice appreciated - thanks.
  6. Hi thanks for the reply. What I meant by blank, was that the red boxes do not light up (are all still empty) when there is obvious movement in front of the camera. I make sure I select the entire area and then click apply to save the settings. The photo I provided shows what these boxes look like on my NVR without the upgraded firmware. On the NVR I have upgraded I can do a dance in front of the camera but none of the red squares light up.
  7. I have also attached a photo that shows the dynamic analysis of motion when movement is detected on the "Motion Detection" screen. I was just using this the other day to check a door way. I walked through the door and all of the little red boxes lit up to show it was detecting motion. The photo below is from my second NVR which I have not upgraded. These boxes are now just blank after upgrading the firmware. I can walk about in front of the camera but no movement is detected and none of the boxes light up. These two photos show what used to happen and it does not happen now.
  8. Hi. Thanks for the reply. I have provided a photo that shows the little green motion markers that I am talking about. I took this photo on my other Hikvision NVR that does not have the upgraded Firmware. This is also set to continuously record so the timeline is blue but the smart motion detectors are apparently something that is done by the actual cameras and this makes it really easy to look at an hours worth of footage and instantly see where there has been any motion
  9. Hi. I really would appreciate any help with the following problem. My equipment is genuine Hikvision: DS-7608NI-K2/8P NVR DS-2CD2142FWD-I Dome Cameras This time yesterday, when playing back footage on the NVR I could see the green motion markers on the playback bar to show where motion was detected. Anyone who uses Hikvision NVRs and Hikvision cameras will know how useful these green indicators are when reviewing footage. Today I decided to update the NVR firmware to the latest version (wish I hadn't). My NVR Firmware was V3.4.105 which was the old interface from a few years ago with the big chunky icons. I upgraded to V4.72.107. The latest firmware gives me a brand new user interface. I could possibly could get used this, but... PROBLEM: The green motion indicators have vanished. Completely gone from all previous footage from before the update and not appearing on new footage. Now I just see one continuous blue timeline when I play back footage. Only yesterday I was reviewing some footage from last week and all the footage had the green motion markers whenever my cameras had detected movement. Also, I no longer get the real-time dynamic analysis of motion when somebody walks through the red boxes when I'm on the "Motion Detection" screen. Again, I was just using this the other day to check a door way. I walked through the door and all of the little red boxes lit up to show it was detecting motion. I know the motion detection is still working because the new interface has a little alarm bell in the top right of the screen. When I click on it and look at the "Basic Event" screen the centre column labeled "Alarm/Exception" shows all of the "Motion Detection" events. There is also a useful play button which will play each of the motion detection events. I actually really like this feature, but I also need to see the green motion indicators on the timeline. QUESTION: Have Hikvision removed these green motion indicators from the NVR playback footage? I know Hikvision removed the motion indicators from the web interface a few years ago because of some story about bandwidth or processing, but you could still see the green motion indicators when watching footage on the NVR. I thought the firmware on my cameras might need upgrading so have upgraded both of them to the latest firmware. Old version V5.4.5. New version V5.5.82. Still no green motion indicators on playback timeline. I have connected to the cameras and on the "Motion" screen the checkbox for "Enable motion detection" is ticked and the checkbox for "Enable dynamic analysis for emotion" is also ticked. All my settings look exactly as they did before, with the exception of (sorry to say it again) no green motion indicators when I'm viewing footage on my NVR. As a last resort I am thinking about rolling back the firmware, but I know doing that is not a good idea. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Does anyone who is reading this have the latest firmware on their NVR (or have a newer NVR) and can see the green motion indicators on their timeline when playing back footage? I should have known better than to update the firmware on a device that I was completely happy with. I really would appreciate any help or advice with regards to this.
  10. Hi. Thanks for reading this post.Anyone who uses a Hikvision NVR and genuine Hikvision cameras will understand how important and useful the green smart event motion detection markers are that appear along the timeline. These motion indicators allow you to review hours of surveillance footage in just a few minutes and can help pinpoint incidents very quickly.I think this "smart event" feature is proprietary to genuine Hikvision cameras. I have a few other cameras on my system and whilst they do motion detection and can notify me via the Hik-Connect mobile App, none of them put the green event indicators onto the timeline on the NVR which is a huge miss. I think these green motion indicators are a hardware feature that is actually inside the genuine Hikvision cameras. Even cameras that support the full ONVIF protocol don't do the green motion indicators.Q1: Does anyone know if the the slightly cheaper HiLook cameras that are manufactured by Hikvision have the smart event feature that will put the green event indicators onto the timeline? I understand HiLook are the lower-end "consumer" Hikvision cameras which have fewer features. The technical information for the HiLook cameras say they only do motion detection and do not have the more advanced features such as face recognition or number plate recognition etc. but I only need the motion detection feature but it MUST put the green event markers onto the timeline.Q2: Just out of curiosity, has anybody managed to get non Hikvision cameras to put these green event indicators onto the timeline? Or know if this is possible. Thanks for taking the time to read this and would really appreciate any replies.
  11. Hi, thanks for reading this. I have a Hikvision NVR Model DS-7608NI-E2 / 8P/A. 4 cams (2 x Hikvision, 2 x China pin hole). Everything works fine. I have configured channel zero encoding on my NVR. I can see the channel zero using the iVMS4500 app on my android phone. I've found a great way to view my cameras on my Amazon Alexa using www.monoclecam.com. This uses RTSP feeds which all work fine (even the Chineese cams after some faffing around). e.g. to view a Hikvision camera I use:- rtsp:/192.168.1.101:554/Streaming/Channels/101/ This is the standard Hikvision method which works fine. The 101 is viewing the first channel of substream one. QUESTION How can I view channel zero on my DS-7608N using RTSP? I know that channel zero isnt an actual camera, so it doesnt have an actual IP address. In the Network settings screen of my NVR the IP address of my actual NVR is .57 (this is what I use to connect to the actual NVR from my PC). The Network settings screen of my NVR shows the "internal" NIC IPV4 address is .105. I have scoured the internet and have come across various pages that tell you how to view channel zero using RTSP but nothing I have tried works. One forum someone was trying to change the number of cams their channel zero showed via RTSP. They said they could view their channel zero using RTSP, but they didnt say if they were using a Hikvision NVR. Another site said:- "Suppose IP address of NVR was: 172.9.12.39, the RTSP port is 554, to get a stream of Zero channel, the RTSP URL would be rtsp:/172.9.12.39:554/Streaming/channels/001" The 001 was channel 0 stream 01. I assume the .39 in the address above would be the IP of the actual NVR? Again, I've tried this but still cant view channel zero via RTSP. Does anyone have any suggestions please? Many thanks for your time.
  12. Hi there, I have a Hikvision NVR DS-7608NI-E2/8P/A 1 x DS-2CD2042WD-I (Mini Bullet) 1 x DS-2CD2142FWD-I (Dome) 1 x Chinese PIR style spy-cam Thanks for reading this post. I originally thought that Dynamic Analysis for Motion is what puts the green event markers on the blue video timeline whenever motion is detected. This is also known as the "smart" option in playback which is essential for quickly reviewing events and incidents. Anyone with a Hikvision knows how useful the green event markers are on the timeline. Both my Hikvision cameras put the green motion markers onto my timeline no problem. During my research I read a post where someone says even with Dynamic analysis off they still get green markers on their timeline. They said Dynamic analysis is what makes the red squares turn green when you view the image in motion detection mode (the screen with all the small boxes on) but that Dynamic analysis is not what puts the green motion markers onto the timeline. As an experiment I've just bought a Chinese spy-cam in a PIR alarm-style housing. Don't laugh - it's surprisingly good. It's 1080p and uses the ONVIF v2.0 protocol. The image is clear although it's prone to the occasional bout of heavy jittering on the bottom of the image. It connected to my Hikvision NVR no problem (see http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221919228298?). PROBLEM: No matter what I do I cannot get it to put the green motion detection markers on the blue timeline to indicate movement. This means I need to manually scroll through an entire days recording to look at motion events which ideally should all have a green tag beside them. It says it has movement detection and there is a setting in the web-interface on the spy-cam for "Motion Detection" which is on. I have the screen area set to "all" and the schedule is correct. My Hikvision NVR appears to recognise it has Motion Detection as I can also configure Motion Detection settings direct from my NVR but no matter how much I dance in front of the spy-cam my Hikvision doesn't detect the motion. The spy cam does continuous recording no problem and I can playback the footage but there are no green motion markers. If I move in front of my Hikvision cam I see the yellow notification symbol on my screen to show motion has been detected on Cam 1 and there's green tags on the timeline. No motion detection at all on Cam 3 (spy-cam). Can anyone please explain what protocol or technique is actually responsible for putting the green motion detection tags onto the recorded video? Should the ONVIF v2.0 protocol be sending a signal to my Hikvision NVR to trigger motion tagging? I would happily spend £100 on another Hikvision bullet camera and then remove the insides to build my own covert IP POE camera to get motion detection tags on my playback timeline but the components and lens in Hikvision cameras are too big. Are there any small cameras (must be POE) that will do the motion detection tags with a Hikvision NVR? Any feedback appreciated.
