I work for a non-profit. We needed a camera security system and got one from Costco about three years ago complete with 8 cameras and an HD. At first everything worked perfect, we could remotely connect from our other building, or any device with an internet connection.
As time went on we had issues, almost always it was because of QSee's awful software. It seemed every update they did made things worse. Officially all browsers are now incompatible with QSee remote software, and when we tried to install their official remote software on a company computer a number of security flags popped up.
The company has decided (thanks to our volunteer IT person) to get rid of the DVR and keep the cameras and replace it with one made by a company with reliable software. Since we are a non-profit we aren't rolling in money and cannot afford something over $300.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good 8+ channel DVR? We need something with an HD and of course, good reliable remote access software. And a company that will properly update it.
