  1. I have an AVC760 DVR (IDE version) and I'm happy with it for my needs. Lately I have bought a PTZ camera and I can control it with the DVR buttons (on the dvr) and also with Video Server E. But there's my problem, I want to use presets but it's not working here. When I log in in Video Server E then I click on "P: PTZ control" Then I pick PTZ device 2 and I can control my camera. I erased the image for privacy reasons Then there is standing a button Action/Preset (action is green/preset is red) I click on that button and the colors are reversed. (action is red/preset is green) Then I move my camera to a point and click on button 1 Then I move the camera to another point and click button 2 Then I move the camera to another point and click button 3 After that I press again on the Action/Preset button so that Action is green and Preset is red. If I then press on Preset button 1 then the camera moves a little bit and it stops and that's it, that's also with preset button 2 & 3. Why isn't the camera moving to the preset position ?
  2. I've never seen an option to format the HDD. This dvr is using his own filesystem, so it's not necessary to format it.
  3. My DVR is with ATA and not SATA but I tried it with an adapter so that I could use SATA hard drives but it didn't work so I bought a new ATA hard disk.
  4. If I unplug the main power of the DVR then I have to set up the time and date if I restart it, so I think the battery is empty but I was wondering where I can find it on the mainboard of the dvr. I already looked for it but can't find it. Who knows where the battery is positioned ? I have seen somewhere that the battery type is a MS621FE.
  5. It seems that the IDE to SATA adapter not compatible is with the DVR. I checked it with an old Seagate ST340810A HDD and now I have no problems. It's strange that the hard disk is recording but the moment that you press play it will freeze and restart after a few minutes. So it didn't work with these devices: Western Digital 500GB WD5000AAKS HXSP-071218 adapter
  6. I thought this problem was because of a bad hard drive and that's why I replaced the hard drive with a Western Digital 500GB SATA hard drive and I'm using an adapter (IDE to SATA) but the problem isn't gone. I tested the first hard drive in a computer and that gave bad sectors, so that drive had his time. Problem: As I press the play button on the DVR or when I do this with Video server E then the 4th camera window gets black and I still see the live images and the clock that's running but playback doesn't start. Then after a few 4 - 5 minutes the DVR makes a long beeping sound and the "play" and "rec" LED light up and the "HDD" LED lights up but not fully after that the DVR restarts. The DVR initializes the hard drive and it's on slave and "OK" and then I see the live images but if I press the playback button then I have a problem but sometimes it restarts again and stays in a loop (restarting). I have this DVR for 4 or 5 years and it worked always without a problem until now... How can I fix this ?
  7. Have you done something special ?

    Indeed that was the trick

    Java viewer

I don't think this is an activex problem, I only use Firefox and as far as I know, firefox isn't using activex, firefox uses NPAPI (Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface) that is using functions that are similar to activex. I think it's a java problem. When I want to view the images true the webbrowser (FF) then I can see that java is starting up but the view is white. If I start video Server E, then I log in but nothing happens. And on my laptop (Ubuntu Linux x64) I can see the images in firefox and I also use the java app CCTV.jar without a problem. I have no idea if there are more Win7 users with the same problem.

    Java viewer

I have a problem, I recently installed Windows7 and now I'm not able to view my images from my dvr (avc760) with "video server e". So I looked for something else and I want to use the java app that is hosted at http://scorpiontheater.com/javaapp.aspx I downloaded CCTV.JAR, I also use this on my laptop (Ubuntu Linux). The problem is that I have to put in the hostname and the port, username and password everytime I start it. I saw on the webpage where I downloaded this app, that you can use a shortcut in Windows but I made one to this app and added my hostname, port, etc. but that's not working. This is what I have I added this But this doesn't work So what is the correct why to do that ?
  11. I have a Sonyericsson K610i and I can start eagle eyes but I can't see anything after setting it up.

    Java client for AvTech DVRs

I have downloaded your java app and I ran it in Ubuntu 9.04 64 bit. I must say that it starts very fast but the problem is that my cpu load is very high and for a laptop is that a bad thing. That's what I had to say. CPU Intel P8400 @ 2.26 GHz 4 Gig Ram
  13. Sorry for the late reply, but I did some more testing. I have also a mic connected to my dvr and I hear no audio when I play a recorded video in Ulead videostudio and also in Windows media player. My default player is VLC player and it wasn't working with it so I tried Windows Media player and that's working.
  14. I still have the same problem. I start Video Server E and then for example I push the record button after I logged in. Then I push again on that button to stop recording and I see the *.vse file on my Desktop. When I open it, I can play it (fast forward, backwards etc.), and then I can push on the Avi (avi convert) button to convert it. If I do that it will convert and I see an *.avi file on my desktop. If I play it with a media player then the only thing I see is black, but I imported it in Ulead Videostudio 11 and then I see an image so it's probably the player.
