    Is wifi bad?

Thanks for the answer Can you please explain the benefit of using HD-Tvi over Ip cameras? I would still need to run all the cables to the DVR (except I would lose the option of using a device such as "netgear power over ethernet"?

Is this the correct method for outside cameras? Cameras -> hole in wall -> POE switch -> netgear powerline -> another netgear powerline (in the living room) -> NVR

Ah cool! So this product removes the need to drill holes in the wall? You just install one device inside and another one where the nvr is? No mounting camera still needs fixing or you still need to get power to it A lot of adverts say the benifits of wifi is no holes........ which is crap as they still need power....... so same size hole if power or Ethernet Ok I see. Do you know of a good book/tutorial on how to set up the cables etc? This might be a stupid question but do I need to drill 4 holes trough the wall if I have 4 outside cameras on different walls (With 4 powerline kits and 1 powerline adapter in the router? Or should I just have long cat5 cables around the house and put them all trough the same hole? Lol It would be nice to learn all this beforehand, so I don't mess up with customers... My friend has bought a package with 4 cameras of me, so I can practice on his house first though...

Hello everybody! I am trying to learn about cctv cameras and have heard that wifi cameras are generally a bad idea, because of low signal, loses connection etc. Is this true? What would you advice outside a normal business/ home? Wifi or network cable? What about inside a store for example? Thank you

    What cameras to buy?

Okey I see. But how many percent profit can I expect with a reputable company? Hi trying to make a profit from main stream sellers like hik and dahua is going to be hard. Customers can find prices online. Other advice is don't by direct from China you will not get the warranty or support Profit...... is on installation..... no customer likes to see cables in or outside of there home...... and will pay for better install Yhea thats why I was looking at chineese suppliers... Maybe you can recommend a good seller? Profit on installation makes sense. You dont think an online shop with a main streem brand will make any money ? I was hoping for both online shop and installation.... Btw: Do you think the cctv market is on its way up or down? The crime rates in Norway is going up, so I think it might be a good time to start? Thank you my friend

    What cameras to buy?

Hello I want to start a cctv sale and installation company in Norway. I have read a lot on the internet about the subject lately, but as Im sure you know: Its easy to get lost in the huge jungle of different cameras out there. So thats why I joined this forum. To maby get a little help from you professionals. What cameras do you recommend to buy? Hikvision and Dahua seems like the biggest brands with the best quality. But they also cost alot and the profit margin might not be that big? Thats why I have searched a lot for chineese manufactuers. What do you think about Longse? Have anyone of you tried them lately? Do you know of any other cheap suppliers that sell good quality cameras? Its important for me that the customers get good quality... Best regards from Norway!
