    Backup CCTV to memory stick.

Pablo, HiLook DVR/NVRs are the domestic brand from hikvision so your USB drive will need to be formatted to Fat32. The Video and log export option will provide .mp4 video files along with a .tex file containing start and end data for each clip. The .mp4 files are proprietary and will not play on windows media or VLC so you need to do a second export to obtain the player. this should be MLplayer or VSplayer.

    Player for .dmd video files

Paul, Are you able to share one o fthe files? I may have a solution for the .dmd files.
  4. Andy, I presume you are using a windows OS. The HDD may be a ext partition so windows will not support the disc format. You can try mounting it using a program like Paragon ExtFS. this will allow you to mount the drive. Or run a virtual build of linux. Other option to test the HDD is operating correctly you could download a trial of something like UFS explorer. This is a very good data recovery tool and i have had some cracking results using it. Just remember that the data may not be in a file arranged format and there could potentially just be a drive full of RAW proprietary data.
  5. There is a couple of manufacturers that use the .ps file container for their proprietary video exports for example COP security. Can you share a link to one of the clips as i may have a player.

    Floureon support

I have dropped you a message. hope it helps N
  7. As Tom has said it is a proprietary file that will only playback via the DVR it was exported from or one of the same model. Samsung do have a bu to avi convertor though it’s a little temperamental. Due to this they have now changed the .bu file on all new DVRs/NVRs to H264 if I remember right. N

    Vista Quantum Plus password help

Good new that you got in to it. I checked my notes and unfortunately I don’t have the info. I was going to ask for make model and serial number and I would of been able to get a password reset for you but looks like you don’t need that now.

    Vista Quantum Plus password help

I may have a solution for you, I will check my notes when I am back at work tomorrow.
  13. What version of buck up player are you using, reason I ask this is some will allow you to then export from the player as a avi. The only other way you will be able to get this to work is to carve the data for each camera creating a .ps file for each then convert that. It’s not a simple task and not something that should be attempted though with out the correct knowledge or experience. I really don’t understand why people have the fascination with converting raw cctv to other formats. I have used hundreds if not thousands of proprietary cctv players and can honestly say that I have only had issues with one or two players not working how I would like it to.

    Samsung backup help needed

Samsung’s .bu file can only be viewed by playing them back in the dvr that they were exported from. You can’t upload them back to the dvr as the dvr only exports footage. Samsung did release a .bu to avi converter but in my experience it is very unreliable and glitches a lot especially if you have a lot of footage to play. If the footage is still available on the dvr then you can export it as a .sec ( comes as a .exe with player) or a .avi
