    Hikvision Networking Issues

depending on you firmware there is somewhere in network settings of the dvr an option called "virtual host". activate it and you can access the cameras through the nvr on the other subnet. you see the address in the camera management
  2. You need the VSPlayer for Mac from the hikvision website
  3. I'm not sure if that still works but try But first you need to change the videotype of the substream to mjpeg. And even then its like a diashow and no fluent stream.
  4. Summertime is always from last sunday in march to last sunday in oktober i dont know why dahua doesnt do this automatically...
  5. does the camera support dynamic noise correction/reduction? maybe the black image causes too much noise and the "motion" alarm is triggered. firmware up to date?
  6. just take a look at dahua or hikvision cameras. they have good quality for a good price www.hikvision.com www.dahuasecurity.com I would recommend a model with a sd card slot for local storage. from hikvision you can find: DS-2CD2542FWD-IW http://www.hikvision.com/en/Products_accessries_760_i6144.html or from dahua: IPC-HFW1320S-W http://www.dahuasecurity.com/products/ipc-hfw1320s-w-5631.html Dont forget that the cameras need some power, so a power supply is needed.
  7. you wrote in your first post that you was able to connect to the camera via the browser. is maybe there some options where you can check the ip settings?
  8. Maybe your camera is connected to the wifi but dont get any ip address from the main router. normally this happens when the camera has a static ip address to get configured with an app. when you connect your camera to your main router take a look at the ip settings of the camera. the camera should be set to dhcp to get a ip from the router.
  9. Please take a closer look to the name of the dvr. Because thats important to choose the correct firmware. Normally you find more on the bottom of the device. If you have a DS-7208HWI-SH DS-7208HWI-SL choose this: ftp://ftp.hikvisioneurope.com/Product%20Firmware/Back-ends/Recorder/DVR/DS-72%2073%20HWI-SH%20HFI-SH%2072HVI-SV%20DS-73%2081%2024-ch%2032-ch%20DS-7200HWI-Ex_C/V3.1.6%20build170613/DVR_KN32_EUROPEAN-ML_STD_V3.1.6_build170613.zip or if you have a DS-7208HWI-E2 DS-7208HWI-E1 DS-7208HWI-E2/C choose this: ftp://ftp.hikvisioneurope.com/Product%20Firmware/Back-ends/Recorder/DVR/DS-72%2073%20HWI-SH%20HFI-SH%2072HVI-SV%20DS-73%2081%2024-ch%2032-ch%20DS-7200HWI-Ex_C/V3.1.6%20build170613/DVR_K32_EUROPEAN-ML_STD_V3.1.6_build170613.zip In the Release Notes of that Version they wrote about the compatibility with the new HikConnect service
  10. If you have already a camera bought try it with powerline or wifi bridge like the other guys recommend to you. If not, Dahua itself has some Wifi Cameras... Just go on the Product selector on the dahua website and choose WIFI:Yes Then you will see some models http://www.dahuasecurity.com/product_selector.html

NVR not being assigned local IP - Help

DHCP activated on the router ? DHCP-Pool not full?
  12. Normally the Nas feature works good... It's good that it runs now, somehow. But I really would like to know why it does record on the one server and not properly on the other one. If you want to spend some more time on it you can check maybe the log of FTP and NVR.
  13. The only thing you can do is to mount another light sensor next to the camera and connect to the alarm in. Trigger the day night switch with the alarm in event and you are done. Look for a sensor where you can adjust... https://www.merten.de/Argus-Daemmerungsschalter.30.0.html

    playback is jurky/laggy

when the recording stopps at 16:04.26 does the hdd led still blink? what kind of recorder is that. can you watch and record at the same time? how are the settings of the recording channel?
  15. thats true, there was some http api in the past to control the cameras but hikvision stopped to support it. did you play a little with the sensitivity of day/night switch the other thing is to change maybe the position of the camera that the sensor dont get to much light to stay in color mode.
