    DVR in attic?

But how would I operate the dvr? Now I have my dvr next to my PC at mt desk and I operate the dvr with a mouse plugged into the front of the dvr.

    DVR in attic?

Could you point me in the right direction please, what software do I need on my PC? Am I right in thinking if I have a long hdmi cable going from my monitor and a long ethernet cable from my router, both to the DVR in the attic, then, with the right software I will be able to operate the DVR from my PC?
  4. Well that's the preferred option off the cards. What about a single screen that comes on when the camera detects movement? I have a camera pointing at the front of my driveway and a camera pointing towards the driveway at the rear of my property. Could I set it up so as when the camera at the front detects movement that camera is shown on screen, but as the car/person moves down my drive the camera at the back will show on screen as the second camera picks up movement?
  5. New user just getting used to my swann 4980 but for the life of me I can't suss how to view 2 screens, it's either 1 or 4. Ideally I'd like my main view to be most of the screen and my other view to be a smaller box in the corner. Is this possible? Were should I be looking in the menu? Thanks.

    DVR in attic?

I'm just setting up my first system at my home and I think I would prefer to place the DVR in the attic near where the cables come through my gable end. I do have a professionally fitted plug socket up there too. I live in Lancashire so the weather isn't too extreme and my attic isn't very well lagged so probably warm enough in winter but would my DVR be all right in the summer?
