  1. Yes, but the amount of light will be changing in the room. So I really need an auto iris. I was able to order another lens and this one works with the camera, so apparently there is some sort of wiring difference on the other one. Thanks, Jordan
  2. b1gbleu, Thanks for the response. I didn't realize that there were different wiring schemes for the same type of connector. That partially makes sense. However, I would think that if the lens works on the Pelco, but not the Axis, and the Pelco Lens works on both, that the wiring would not be the issue. I am wrong to assume that? Thanks
  3. Hi All, I am a hobbyist and I have an Axis 221 IP camera set up so I can monitor the display of a piece of equipment mounted in a rack. Currently, the 221 has a Pentax TS3V310ED 3-8mm CS lens on it. It works fine, however I need to mount this camera about eight feet away from the rack and this lens doesn't allow me to zoom in enough to capture what I need to on the rack. I purchased a lens that I thought would work but it doesn't. It is a Cosmicar Pentax 16MM 1:1.4 C31631PL C1614ER. When I try to use it, I get a super dark image and only can see something if I point the camera right at a light. I have tried all different kinds of settings with no luck. I have two Axis 211 cameras and the lens doesn't work on them either. I had an Ultrak 3.5-8mm F1.4 lens that I tried and it also does not work on the Axis cameras. I have a Pelco CCC1370H-2 analog camera that I tested the lens I just bought (Cosmicar Pentax 16MM 1:1.4 C31631PL C1614ER) and the Ultrak 3.5-8mm F1.4 on and they both work on that camera. The Pelco camera has a Pelco brand 2.8-12mm 1:1.4 1/3 CS lens on it and it will work on the Axis. I am assuming that there is come sort of compatibility issue between the Axis and some of these lenses? One other thing that I noticed is that if I put the new lens on the Pelco camera, I can hear and see the iris open immediately. When I put it on the Axis, it does nothing. Is it possible that the axis doesn't have enough power to allow the iris on that lens to open? Anybody have any thoughts? Thanks, Jordan
