    Lorex 4K Kit LNR6826KP

Hello, Just spent the weekend running a cat 6 cable down to man cave and adding a 8 port POE switch. So now instead of a power line giving me max 40MB Download, I have the full broadband speed i get in my house, which is 350+ MB Download, 20MB Upload i.e Virgin. Even though I understand PoE can not go above 100MB as its using 2 of the wires inside a CAT cable to run power, so is effectively only capable of 100MB and not 1000MB. I made my way to Maplin who told me that these are not 'True' IP Cameras and therefor I could not run via a router and I certainly could not use my own FTP server, I had to use Lorex. I had a look at the settings in Costco and unless I am reading them wrong, I can do both with ease, as it has a facility to find a camera on network by MAC and it has settings to add a FTP address etc. a) Can you confirm that I can use my own FTP choice and am not forced into using Lorex's very expensive cloud storage please ?. b) Has any one got one of these units, I have seen previous forums saying other Lorex NVR's are very noisy. c) I note at 4K I can only have 15FPS, which seems very low, the box itself only seems to go to 25MPS even on a much lower resolution, I was expecting 30FPS on a lower setting, any comments ? d) For £840, would you recommend this or should I go for 6 * 5 MP cameras and a Hikvision NVR ? Choices, choices

You may be right about sticking with 5e Can you confirm if below is your advice please. £850 in Costco UK and Lorex did not even know if what i was suggesting was viable Just so clear, originally i was using the network port on NVR to router etc as designed. I assume you are saying keep that as for streaming etc but run from any of the 8 poe ports to extra new powerline adapter nvr side, man cave side from new extra powerline adapter to poe switch and then the camera's. this means 2 cameras will be going into one poe port on NVR ?. Is that OK ?. Or will software on NVR get upset ?. I was thinking if not, the ammount of POE ports means nothing as someone could just add a 16 port POE switch to one of the existing POE ports on NVR.

I will be disregarding any cat 5e cable supplied and running nexan cat 6 cable , crimping on nexan cat 6 connections anyway, i seem to have developed a liking for those 3 part nexan connections lately, only take me 15 min per connection now

Hello I assume you mean install another set of powerlines per any camera over powerline so from poe port on nvr to powerline, other end powerline to camera if powerline has poe built in ?. thats 4 more powerline adapters if we are talking 2 cameras, is this to give better bandwidth ?, I was thinking of also backing footage up to ftp cloud. Will these lorex,s do this or is 4k really a waste of money as will use too much space etc ?. I have swan 2mb at moment and night time vision is not good. Hence the POE Manufacturer and Megapixels upgrade

Hello I plan on buying the Lorex 4K 6 Camera set Costco is selling, as true 8mb 4k cameras. I have a man cave 30 metres from my house with powerline adapters between house and man cave working fine as electricity ran to man cave. I have a 1200mb AV2 poweline and a 300 mb virgin line. I plan on plugging in the NVR to the router as normal. The router is already wired to the powerline etc. At man cave end adding a 4 port poe switch from the poweline output and running 2 cameras from it. All 8 of the poe ports on the back of the NVR would still be free this way as only ethernet would be from NVR to Router. Would this work as i assume the poe cameras would have their own mac address and be seen by the NVR ?. Kit is £800 so want to check first. Diagram attached.
