    help identify please

I'm new to this site. I'm looking for some help, and after doing a bit of reading, I'm hoping you all can help. I'm an officer at a VFW Post, a couple years back we had a surveillance system installed. We had it done professionally. I know I could have done it, may have taken me a bit longer, but I could have installed it. We had a dvr as well as 9 cameras installed. Fast forward, we have decided we want to add 3 more cams at our last meeting. I called the guy that installed the system, and his quote was pretty ridiculous, so I'm going to do it. Here's where I'm coming to the problem. They dvr we have is a cyte, the model is a nuvis 16. It's a 16 channel. I'd like to link to the system, but apparently their webpage is down right now. I tried asking the installer what kind of cameras are compatible with the system, wouldn't tell me. Apparently he feels if we're not going to use him again, he doesn't need to give me any of the info about the system(he also didn't give us any info about the system when we had it installed. Which is bad business practice in my opinion. I also contacted the manufacture, and they told me to contact the installed/distributor. I just need to know what current cameras will work with this system. Can I only use analog, can I use some of the analog/digital hybrid cameras, ect. The cameras that are currently being used are cyte picasso 12EIR(which are now discontinued). I'd like to buy the cameras, wire, power supply, ect, myself and install it. We have drop tile ceilings, and I already know the optimal place to run the wire down into the basement(next to the existing wires that go straight into the office. The only other question I have besides which current cameras I can/should use, can I use any of the coaxile wire surveillance wire, the stuff that's in place now is the thicker rg5u siamese cable. If there is other info you need to help me, ask, and I'll try to provide any info I can. I'm just very frustrated at this point. I can't believe that contractor bent us over once, and now feels he should be able to again(wants to charge us a grand to install 3 cameras, and after looking at equipment prices, I know I can do it for well under $500, and that's generous as for equip prices are concerned).
