    HIK Vision PoE Issues

i have a poe on my setup 30 meters away and works ok
  2. Notify surveillance centre as in what? alarm? pop up? what problem?
  3. if i put 2 hard drives into a new hikvison system do i get the following fills up first 3tb and moves on to second 3tb and when that is fill back to first drive and over write or do i just get 1 3tb in use and it backs up to second drive?
  4. thanks for the reply, the tv yes does have a video in , so may just do as tom said, get a cheap camera and hook up to that tv only
  5. SO i set up a new CCTV system in my local pizza shop this weekend. a hikvison 16 channel system Before he had a 8 camera old swan install that was super video to a dvd/vhs combo for recording ( yes that old ) that also was split to a small tv near the tills showing the till camera to show customers on CCTV. So i have the unit HDMI to a 32inch Sony TV in the office. It is on the 1-7 set up as 3 of the cameras he doesn't need to see all the time. He asked is there a way to show just one camera again on the other TV near the tills. I see if i connect a VGA to other one, it shows whats on the Sony. This of course was something i guess as just sending the same feed to both screens. any way to split what can be seen?
  6. im guessing this is only at night? any new lights about? as if the light is bright the leds wont come on

    Hikvision Driving Me Nuts

the password thing takes 1 min i have the app on iphone and works ok you download a file on a windows pc and press a button, someone software opens and asked you to make a new password some firmware has not been out for years. I have the DS-7108NI-E1/8P and emailed the support in the uk and after 2 emails they just closed my ticket with no help
  8. this van is mostly for recording and anything i can do with that ( like to sleep in back when on other work ) most of it will just be parked up as i will be doing security work under my ds. That could be patrols, searching people or other things so ideally a van to record while im away and can come back to if need be. I liked the idea you had of the 2 masts, maybe a ptz to auto patrol

    QuickDDNS alternative

for 5 years i have used dyndns and no ip site without no problems
  10. as i have done about 20 installs for poe cctv and a ex cable tv and sat installer, i would do the following IMHO put the end on first and test with a lease 30cms of slack. Make sure the cable works, as i have done cameras and phone lines before and cut to my needs to only find out the cable dead/damage Some cat6e on eBay i used last year used rubbish copper and in the end had to bin it as was not getting good signal. If you want to make neat, u can add a small square or round junction box to have the wire inside. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hikvision-DS-1280ZJ-DM21-Junction-Box-Wall-Mount-Bracket-for-Dome-Cameras/252775167722?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
  11. thanks for the replies guys why do you think hikvison is not good for this? the van im looking at are ex welfare ones, so have power, water, microwave and even a loo the idea of 4 cameras looks good and as you said masts are costly. i would like ones i can easy put up in 30 secs by a motor/compressor as some times you need to be a quick as you can to get recordings the pump ones yes are cheap, but i wonder how much of a pain if pump and down all the time. what camera system TOMCCTV would you go for? van cameras, maybe 2k max for 4 cameras and dvr/nvr and storage and 1 or 2 monitors, but as we know 21 inch lcd tv or pc screen are cheap seen anpr cameras from £200-£350 the mast i looked at as well was http://totalmastsolutions.com/cctv-poles-security-and-video-surveillance-masts/
  12. Good morning all, I hold a SIA DS and CCTV public space badges in the UK and looking to convert a old van into a mobile CCTV van for the events coming up that a security company. The van im looking to buy is a old welfare one, so has leisure batteries and wiring and inverter installed. Now i have a hikvision Poe system at home that i find easy to use and would like the same sort of thing in a van. I worked out would need min 6 cameras. One above drivers windscreen one each side of van in middle one center of back of van one inside the control room one on a mast. Now a simple poe is easy to a recorder. and to power i would need a inverter. I have seen some masts about from £1200-£2200 , any one know is this is right or better options? How would a good way in the van to burn any images from the dvr/nvr ? Now with the new GDPR law coming in may 2018, would i be covered with my name/company on side of van with the cctv recording stickers and some sort of folder saying any recorded images are kept for 30 days and then over written? any feedback and ideas ? thanks james ALso can a admin or mod fix my silly mistake, should be gatwickjames not gatwickajmes
